I enjoyed reading your travel through Ireland. I really liked the imagery that you portray.
Just one small typo ... You need a space between Shannon and Bridge.
Best of luck in the competition. Jen

Jenintorre, thanks but actually Shannonbridge is the name of a village in county Offaly, Ireland. Known for other things, as well, as Shannonbridge pottery. ☘️☘️

I love the Irishness of your poem.
And that leprechaun you saw, you saw him because you were drunk, I assume?
Thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest.

Sounds like you know the locale pretty well. I like your rhymes but I couldn't quite get the flow going without the knowledge of the territory myself, I think, I don't know. Beautiful St. Paddy's poem.

Lol, everyone would meet the Leprechaun after drinking that lot!! I love the story in this poem, taking us all on that lovely trek to find the Leprechaun with you, was really nice. And the ending where you achieved it, Lol. that was perfect. Well done and good luck in the contest. :)) Sandra xx

This is a fun poem and I like how you finally saw the leprechaun after imbibing. You have a vivid use of words that describes your journey, the reader feels like she is there with you. This is an excellent St Patrick's Day poem.

****** six virtual stars because this is an absolutely, brilliantly rhyming poem from Ireland! It takes us on a journey in search of the Leprechaun, through counties mentioned we did not know. Finally, drunk as a skunk his buckles did glow! Good luck in the contest (doubt you will need it) most enjoyable tale. Next one about the four-leaf clover or St Patrick and the snakes? K xx

This has an authentic feel to it. You have definitely got more Ireland references than I have heard of. Nice job on the form. My favorite lines were these: Across hills and dales along sheep-dog trails
deep in midlands
It had nice 's' consonance going on and internal rhyme as well.

That was a fun read. And it seems that you found your leprechaun at the end of a very interesting rainbow. Keep up the great writing. And have a safe weekend.

What a fair delight, I shall dare to say,
as this poet seeks leprechauns, and on the way
pauses to imbibe an old Irish brew...
(Did he really stop at just one or two?)

:) What a fun read! Thank you for sharing.

Hi,
This seemed a long trek to find a mythical being. Though it seems if you had a beer at the beginning, you would not have needed to make the journey at all. I like the poems rhyme and flow and the green background for St Patrick's Day.
Good luck in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Joan
