Hi Katie,
She is wise because any death is sad and should draw tears. It is a good picture. I don't think that she should pick up the bird in bare hands, though.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Congrats on placing second in the contest.

Hi Joan, I appreciate the review on this little poem. I'm glad you like it. No, the brid shouldn't be picked up with bare hands, unless you know why it died. I used to try to keep injured birds alive, but sometimes they died anyway.

You're welcome, Beth. I remember trying to keep a field mouse my cat brought back alive. We put in the milk pail Cleo couldn't get to it and fed it through a eye dropper. I lived for an extra day.

I love this. It captures the beauty that is this Kayla.. To be full of wisdom and in touch with nature, but still of course, cry over something sad! Especially if passionate about it. Children's hearts are pure. Great job thank you for sharing!

This is lovely. Is the girl in the picture someone you know? This poem describes the very best of what we all have inside of us. The ability to have knowledge and empathy. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you so much for the review. No, I don't know the girl. I went looking for a picture on Google after I finished the poem. I thought she was perfect. I'm so glad you liked this.

Nice picture and well-chosen words to describe the compassion that she has for an injured bird. I am sure that this compassion and care also is demonstrated for people.

That she weeps for the fallen sparrow, shows how very much she cares for nature and the creatures in it. She understand that we are all linked.
Perfect syllable count and a concise message that gives us something to ponder.
Good luck in the contest.

Beautiful in all ways - presentation, thoughtful words, moving sentiment, a reminder of the paradox between knowing facts and experiencing the reality. t reminded me that Jesus knows and cares when even a triny sparrow falls. It's the right match for a Cinquain, and I am sure it will do very well, as it deserves. Best wishes.

Excellent entry for the Cinquain Poetry contest. You describe a tender moment in time. I love the Cinquain form because it's like haiku in some ways.

I like the presentation too. Concrete images easy to visualize.

Good syllables count and connection between lines.

Goodluck

That is a good depiction of children of today."wise beyond her years" yet "weeps" When she encounters something like when a "sparrow falls to earth."

Children are definately multi-dimensional.
