Such a heart-breaking situation. You have written with emotional intensity here, carrying the reader along on your painful story of how the delight of new parenthood turned to tragedy. Your strong faith provided some comfort in a very sad circumstance.

Your story is sad and interesting. I never heard of MAS before. It is so devastating to lose a child. I lost three sons so I know. Your story is nicely penned. I wish you the best in the contest.

I am so sorry about your firstborn. God does not hurt, although I can see the hurt in your wife and your soul. I also had complications when my first born was born. The baby was fine, it was the baby's mama, me.

Oh my, I'm in tears. I could feel the pain in your words. That God gave you 45 minutes with her, made that time so special. I've not heard of that before but I'm sure many parents have faced that pain. I'm sure she felt your love, and she would keep that until she can see you again and you can love that child as much as she loves you. I'm so sorry you lost her. I'm glad you have more children and grandchildren. This story is perfect for the 'Gone Away' contest. Well done and good luck in the contest. :)) Sandra xx

Thank you for sharing this contest entry with us. I understand how hard this had to have been for you. I lost a son at 32 days old. One learns to live with it but never forgets. Good luck with the contest.

"to the share" should be to share.

Losing a newborn would be devastating no doubt.

"Gods task" should be God's task. Special work she was called to do.

Nice yearly tribute.

I have never even heard of this horror before and I am so sorry you experienced it. Beautifully written and palpably felt. I cannot imagine the anguish you must have suffered then and continue to experience today. Good luck in the contest. ann

Your story of this tragic loss is laced with pain and enduring grief, but what shines through is your little angel who walked you through this darkness to acceptance and love and trust that God's was the better plan. God and his angel has blessed you and you so clearly show us this with your words. Good luck in the contest.

My eyes welled with tears as I read your beautiful, heartfelt story about baby Kristen. My husband and I lost our first born baby girl.

In telling this story, your flow from one event and feeling to the next is emotional, understandable and smooth. Your ending (visiting Kristen's grave) is satisfying. Best wishes in the contest.

This is beautiful and sad. It is had to lose your first child. I know because we lost our first child as well. Susan was two months old and supposedly in perfect health when the doctor gave her first DPT injection. She got sick right away and died two days later. We visited her grave as long as we lived where she is buried.

Beth, I'm so sorry. As sad as it was for us, having Susan for two months is more devastating. I?d like to think they are up there together looking down for us!
