Congratulations on a terrific write and contest winner! I think all of us have had a sleepless night (or many) and have been delighted to have the muse visit and allow us to spend our time creating! Your aabb rhymes are spot on and your twelve lines meet all requirements of the contest, with the added benefit of being so very relatable! Nice!

Thank you, Karenina. I'm so glad you like this poem. I think most of us can't sleep at night. I really appreciate the six stars. Someone else gave me six, but it didn't show because two new reviewers gave me four. Now the six shows and I'm happy. LOL

Oh my?. Not sure why fours cancel sixes?.

This is a six star post without question in my opinion!

(Now I have to go back and read those?)

    Hmmmm.

Oh this so deserves a six. I donʼt have one to give, but you did get my vote, as this so represents me too. So when my head hits the keyboard, it is time to give in.
Love this so much and thought it was genius. Congratulations on your win. It was so deserving!!

Lovely poem. I really enjoyed this soothing, cleverly expressed verse. The rhymes and rhythm are superb and the content speaks to all of us when we have the gift to use our sleeplessness to such advantage. Many thanks for sharing, Debbie

It's funny but that rhythm can sometimes never switch off at night. Debbie

Hi Beth, I really liked this minute poem. Yes, why waste the night lying sleepless when you can write instead. That's a creative way to pass the time. Good luck in the contest. Ulla:)))

I can identify with this from my experience of insomnia. What else are you supposed to do when you wake up in the middle of the night and can't get to sleep again?

Thank you, Patricia. We are certainly not alone with the sleepless night. Writing is certainly better and turning and tossing all night. I truly appreciate the six stars.

It seems that a lot of muses work best at night! Many will identify. Your poem is well written with smooth rhyme and flow, and has met the syllable requirements. Very well presented also. Best wishes for the contest.

Thank you so much Wendy. I am finding there a lot of writers who don't sleep well at night. I guess our brains are always involved in what we might want to write about next.

I usually read and review.in the early morning, but just occasionally I sometimes can't sleep, or wake up in the wee, small hours, so I know what you mean. An excellent minute poem. Good writing, rhyming and presentation, So good luck, blessings Roy

Thank you Roy. I go to bed early but I'm always awake in the middle of the night. It helps to have something constructive to think about to help you get sleepy again.

Excellent entry for the Minute Poetry writing prompt contest.

I suffer from insomnia, it's awful.

The rhymes and meter are not forced and they flow well.

the structure makes sense, it draws on emotions and it presents strong images.

This is a good entry into the Minute poem contest. The text is a great size for reading. I like it centered on the visual. The message is presented with clarity and is easily understood. The spacing of text in your poem box is imbalanced. Lessen the space at the top of your text to make it appear balanced in the poem box. Your visual fits perfectly. Good luck in the contest.
