Hah hah.I had to have a laugh at this. We had unusually heavy rain last year, so everything took off, after suffering minimal growth in previous years, and considering you've had more rain than you need, perhaps this year it will be great, well done, blessings Roy

I love allamanda's story. She seems to be quite independent and very vigorous. Oh, to be young again. If she grows over the roof, who cares. Everybody loves flowers! (She could make a few comma changes-before , too in the first paragraph, and before the quotation marks, instead of after when she gives the name of the song, unless commas are different where she is growing.

Yes, commas are used slightly differently here, I have noticed, but the one after the song quotes was incorrect, as I already had an exclamation mark. Yes, she needs more tip pruning, but it's been either too hot or too wet. Thank you for the thoughtful review!

Thank you for sharing this club entry with us. I enjoyed reading and smiled. I have Morning Glories that are volunteer and love to cover things. At least these are my favorite color, a light purple.

Looks like Allamanda wins. Excellent personification as Allamanda reveals her thoughts to us. She just wants to grow and be the greatest she can be. That might be a bit pesky, but it works for her.
Excellent response to the prompt.

Thank you very much! Yes, she wins. I should have been tip-pruning - but it has been either extremely hot or extremely wet!

You have a very intelligent and articulate plant there--not to mention that she is quite lovely. Rather than such a brutal pruning, perhaps a quick nip of the tallest vines would be more appreciated by Alice. I nip the very top of my avocado plant to keep it bushy rather than lanky and it does well.

I don't know if you've heard of Kirlian photography, but it's fascinating. It seems to show the reaction that plants have to physical harm. Little creepy though. It makes eating anything seem brutal! :(

Thank you for a super review. Yes, I should tip prune it more often. Our weather through the last few months has been either extremely hot or extremely wet. Hopefully it will be nicer for catching up on gardening soon. I haven?t seen that but have read the "Secret Life of Trees" with scientific evidence of communication between trees via underground networks. It?s amazing. I already feel guilty about pruning and about eating meat but if all plants do have feelings we are a bit stuck for food. Super review. Many thanks.

I know just what you mean. I often wish we didn't have to eat--I'd be so much slimmer, too!

I don't know how you got on Wendy's computer. You must be a clever vine. I'm a night blooming cereus, and I am fairly close to Paul's computer. I couldn't believe it when I saw your post. This is my first try with the computer, so I may make some mistakes. I am a fairly rare plant and only blossom at night. My blossom is beautiful, but it has un unpleasant odor. I hope Wendy doesn't get carried away when she cuts you back. Does Wendy know that you entered this piece in a contest?

Lol. Wendy is careless - she left a window open so I grew one tendril a litle bit longer and reached in. One tendril typing. In one place I put in an extra comma!!
She will cut me back to size, I just know it, but she is waiting for the weather to be neither too hot nor too wet.
I will google to see what you look like. A pity about your odour. A pity too to only bloom at night - when there are fewer people around to admire you. She has one that only blooms one night a year - but it's stunningly beautiful, so she checks the bud every night for a couple of weeks to not miss it. Best wishes.
    Al Amanda.

A fine nature post Wendy and I expect when there is a drought there is also a hosepipe ban so you are not allowed to water your gardens? This is what happens in England anyway. People are fined when the authorities see their green grass! So this plant is watered from the rainwater tank? Does the water go stagnant over a period of time? Just wondering. I loved this beautiful plant that I have never heard of before and your fine story Wendy, love Dolly x

Yes, that is right. One can water by buckets only - which is almost impossible. The rainwater doesn't stay in the tank long enough to become stagnant, in general. It holds a few thousand litres and does most of the front garden. Glad you enjoyed the story, and thank you for reviewing it.

I thought you were introducing a new writer through your site. Lol. We have a wandering climbing plant here in the south that is virtually uncontrollable. It's called kudzu. Fast grower too. Like several inches per day. Not a pretty oomer either. This was a funny story. Hope the lady gets to Alice before Alice gets to the roof. Well written. Gretchen

Lol, that's good - that is what I'd hoped. The lady is waiting for the weather to cool down a bit - it's been either too hot or too wet lately, and unfortunately Alice Amanda just loves that weather. S glad you enjoyed it.

I enjoyed your story very much about the flowers. At first, when I started reading the story, I was thinking it was a female as well, but when you got into it, I understood that it was flowers that were being planted to cover the screen so that somebody would not know that the water tank was there. This is a good story and I wish you the best in the club event. Patricia.

Thank you very much Patricia. That makes me happy as I wanted the reader to think initially that it was a real person. Glad you enjoyed it. Many thanks.

If I didn't know better, I'd say you went on a bender, but I know you a little and think we might be related. Knew from the beginning where you were headed, and I haven't even earned my detectiveism badge.
