I'm so sorry that you called your grandma or elderly people "fossils". It is not a nice comment. When you are young a lot of things sound hilarious. Would you mind checking your beginning sentence, does it need some editing perhaps?

Isn't it funny what we would find funny when younger but insulted or not see the funny side of things when age catches up to put a wrinkle on things. I liked that this story is of a childhood memory of calling old people 'fossils'. Very amusing.

This is a good entry into the 50 Word Story contest. The text is a great size. The story is stated with clarity and is easily understood. Yeah, quickly "old folks" jokes become unfunny when we become older. You did a good job with a few words in telling a solid and relatable story. A visual would enhance this story. I wonder why those closest to us are the ones that see the worst of us. So often we are nice to people outside our circle, even if we don't like them, while those that love us most feel the rant.

A good read. I thoroughly enjoyed the humour. Isn't it interesting how we all find references to the elderly so comical when we are younger? We never dream that one day we may be lucky enough to grow old ourselves. I would simply curl up and die if someone referred to me as an old fossil! Best of luck.
