Which poem was it? Was it the one about the rabbit wanting to be a nun? If so, then the author is Australian - amazing someone picked that up just from the writing! I'm not sure I would have.

It was ?Rabbity Sunset? by Julie Lau. The even funnier thing is that the comment was self deprecating humour. She is Australian, and she wrote the comment herself about herself when she voted for her poem. That?s our Aussie humour. Made it even funnier for me. Lol. Thanks so much for a super review.

Wow. I don't think I could bring myself to vote for one of my own poems! It seems a bit cheeky, but that is funny about the comment she wrote.

I think everyone votes for their own. It is permitted. So go right ahead. Lol.

Hi Wendy,
That's super! I enjoyed your retaliatory remarks to the opinion of the author who wrote: "Hilariously ridiculous. Author must be Australian." I admire you for taking the upper road, taking what he/she wrote in a positive context. Good for you! There's no lack of talent in any Aussie authors! The only advice I'd ever give to an Australian... STAY OUT OF THE OCEAN!!! LEAVE YOUR SURFBOARDS AT HOME! SELL THEM, EVEN!
I love the artwork, that rabbit busy at his writing desk. It makes me think of the rabbit in "Alice in Wonderland".
Nicely penned!
Hugs,
Kimbob

Thanks so much Kimbob. I found out later who it was and it made it even funnier. It was an Australian who wrote the poem. And when she voted for her poem, she also wrote the comment about herself!
That figures. That?s our sense of humour!! Lol.

This story, Hang On a Minute, holds all of its power in the idea that being Australian is a "good on ya" type of thing. So, how do I before Australian? Is there a test? Is it multiple guess?

You can be an honorary Australian! Automatic entry into the fun club of being an Aussie. You just need a bit of a ridiculous sense of humour. Welcome.
    Thanks so much for reviewing!

Hello Wendy,
I guess I never realized that you folks from the land down under had such fine senses of humor. I suppose that given the harshness of the environment at times, that a sense of humor would serve you well. I didn't read that poem, but then I haven't had time to read a lot lately.
Have a blessed day gal.

Thanks so much Tom. The funny thing is that the writer IS an Aussie, and she wrote the comment herself, just having a good laugh at herself, and our Aussie humour. Lol.
I appreciate your time and review.

Might it not have been because rabbits, though not indigenous to Australia, flourished there until myxy was released (I can't spell that disease so I just used the abbreviation.

Yes, very possible! The funny thing (now that voting is over) is that the "hilariously ridiculous" poem was in fact written by an Aussie! Even funnier, she wrote that comment herself after voting for her own piece. Lol. Aussie humour!

I enjoyed reading this, Wendy, but I do disagree with you on one point:
"But no, it wasn't me! I wish I had that good an imagination, and poetic skills." You don't need to feel this way, I think you are one of the best on this site for using your imagination and skills.

Thank you so much for a lovely review, always so encouraging. The funny is that the person who wrote the poem IS Australian - and she wrote the comment herself, about herself. Even funnier. That?s our Aussie humour.

Some of my favorite authors happen to be Australian and I have learned a lot from them. This includes you, of course. Thank you for sharing this shout out to Australian authors.

Humor is a good thing. I love when something makes me laugh. Can e irreverent, silly, punny or just flat out belly laugh worthy. Takes the stress level down a notch or two. I will have to check out the Aussie touch to humor. BTW, I find your writing very funny and uplifting. Gretchen

I have run into a few of you Aussies on this site, and have got along famously with you. I became a big fan after I watched the Snowy River movies.
