Your comment about retrieving something from the basket is a good one. I seldom dump my waste for days for just that reason?second thoughts. Many thanks for sharing and praising my poem, kahpot.

I enjoyed your entry in the sad poems competition but it did not make me feel sad. The wife's words of encouragement, the concluding sentence where the author is inspired to finish his write. There is a true sense of warmth about this poem.

I like this poem a lot. It's true, I think all writers have those days when we feel not only uninspired but incapable of putting together cohesive sentences. My mom told me on days like that, to just sit down and say, "Ok, today I'm going to write crap just so my fingers stay in practice!" From time to time, I get a few good and useable thoughts out of it. Good luck in the contest.

I like this poem a lot. It's true, I think all writers have those days when we feel not only uninspired but incapable of putting together cohesive sentences. My mom told me on days like that, to just sit down and say, "Ok, today I'm going to write crap just so my fingers stay in practice!" Doug, I would bet most writers get writer?s block sometimes. Indeed, I do find FanStory prompts often get me unstuck. Many thanks for your kind praise.
