This is an epic write and my experience of winter is that it still spits out its anger until the end of April and I have known snow and hail in May when winter refuses to lie down, a fine descriptive write, roll on warm spring days, much enjoyed DJ, love Dolly x

With the idea of something ending, as indicated in he notes, I can see how the pall of recognizing the familiar with a sense of disconnection might be implied. The general feeling and specific items seen come together to produce this reassessment of the scene and all that happened there.

This is a fantastic poem. Your colour scheme and aliteration make it a standout. The continuity of the "s" sound throughout the poem is genius. Well done and best of luck.

JT, thank you for your kind words. The poem, for me, captures a distinct heartbreak of mine which otherwise would be lost. I appreciate that you appreciated it. DJ

This is a strong cautionary tale. You have used some valuable alliteration. The s's become onomatopoetic in many situations and incidences. They carry many messages. It seems the s's actually are the crux of this poem. Do they indicate a sizzling, dying flame or other things. This is so full I can only touch on a few attractive literary aspects. I'm giving this A+

This is very nicely done. Winter sure is passing, like bad gas that no one is willing to claim!

This line was brilliant:
Shimmer of ivory aureate rendering of bliss and scintillation

Thanks for sharing and good luck!

Douglas, thank you. Your kind words strengthen my hope that my poem is not too insular. It captures, for me, a private heartbreak of long ago.

This is a very poignant and maybe tragic. It makes us ask many questions, about life, our cultural values, established covenants...
I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Thank you for sharing.

I liked the very stark imagery in this piece, almost unworldly in its process, indeed what flows from death? No one this side of the divide knows, or rather some may, but dint understand, the similarity between death and winter is quite profound in the mind of the observer. Beautifully written my friend, good luck, blessing Roy
