I had to blow the picture up really, really big to see it, me ol' eyes are going, you understand. The likeness is stunning. How wonderful, and you're not being blackmailed anymore. How peaceful and assured you must feel.
Delighted to see you back on Writer's Central, Yardier! Sending you my best too.

Sally, so good to hear from you and thank you for the nice rating.
You are going to think I am a stinker but, the story is complete fiction intended to entertain and pull the readers leg and I got yours along with many others. You came close to the full tapestry of the story. However, you missed some clues.
My fictional friend, Lirpa Loof, only exists on one day of the year. Getting It? I posted it on that special day, April1, when all sorts of April Fool shenanigans tease and torment people. Lirpa Loof is April Fool backwards. No, I don't have a brother but the man in the picture is a friend. People think we are brothers, but we are not.
Hope we're still friends (;-) Yard

A great piece of storytelling here in this fine post. After reading I had to recheck and verified it was fiction. It was humorous, I liked the red hots pilferage.
Lirpa Loof... that's a good one! Caught this one with your notes...

It's those fond memories that keep us going and help us not to think too much about those not so fond memories. LOL. Thanks for sharing. Glad to see you back writing.

Yes, I will keep writing.

Actually, you didn't get me altogether. I thought in the beginning, what a strange name, then at stories end I caught Lirpa Loof as April Fool. I just went on and sent the review anyway. LOL. Good to see you around!

What a great story this was with a surprise happy ending for you. I loved the nostalgic view of your childhood and the descriptions of those who peopled your life. Lirpa Loop (rather odd name) sounds like a wonderful friend who brought you and your brother back together again after so long apart.
This was just a heartwarming, well-written story. Great job!

Good morning, Yardier!
I read your exceptionally well-crafted story yesterday and made a note to return this morning with six glittering stars.
For some reason, I thought it was biographical, and I must admit, I didn't find your story humorous: I found it incredibly moving and somewhat sad.
Although I did smile at the name, "Lirpa Loof," and then I studied it closer and realized, "Good Lord! That's April Fool spelled backwards! Glory! You got me, Yardier! And a darn good one, too!
Now that is some darn fine writing, sir!
Thank you for the smile!

Thank you so much for the six stars.
Good morning back at cha, Diane! You are most welcome for the smile. Congratulations, you are the sole winner of the April Fool awareness award! So far, you are the only reviewer to get the joke. To some degree I feel somewhat sad so many bought the story hook line and sinker but as you figured it out it is purely humorous fiction with a catch. My fictional friend, Lirpa Loof, only exists on one day of the year. I posted it on that special day, April1, when all sorts of April Fool shenanigans tease and torment people. No, I don't have a brother but the man in the picture is a friend. People think we are brothers so I used the picture to bring visual life to the story. The story is complete fiction intended to entertain and pull the readers leg and I got yours.
Thanks again for the wonderful rating.

You got me! I was about to to comment on what a heartwarming story this is, and then I saw that it was fiction. So, I thought to myself, you meant to list it as a non-fiction story. Got me again! And then I studied the photo. I assume it is of your brother who was never given up for adoption. Got me again. You win.

You shared your story well. I enjoyed reading it, Yardier.
The details and dialogue added great interest to it. I'm
happy for you that you had such a best friend who helped
reunite you and your brother. The sneaking of the red
hots was funny. I don't believe the name needs to be capitalized.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

😊Well, I could say the 5 is a backwards 2.

What a touching, heartwarming story. In addition to the story, I liked the clear succinct way in which it is written. The two men in the photo resemble as though they are actually brothers. The humor you classify this story under must actually be the joy. Great story and great storytelling.

This is the second story I've read this morning about the way we may look at a lens, with only the first person's perspective in view, we get used to the third person writing, but we all live a secluded life in our heads...just as well, welcome back, blessings Roy
