Good grief, man -- Your brain must be a fun place to visit -- do you sleep? Mrs. Paul has to be a whiz too. You crack me up! All that fuss over what to wear... HAHAHAHA! Better she focused on her perfume choice, yes? No. I am NOT rating this one with a six either (although it surely deserves one). I will run out on the first day of the week! (Forgive me?)

****************OUTSTANDING!

Great job with this story! And you give us a wise message that it's not all about physical looks that make a good impression! Congratulations on your second place win!!

And since I read Debi's birthday tribute to you, Happy Birthday!!

Hi Paul,
This takes blind date in the literal and figurative sense. He is unknown to her and he is really blind. Good twist.
Congratulations on placing second in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Joan

Thanks for the review, Joan. They say that love is blind. This relationship might just work out.

    My pleasure, Paul.
    I think you are right.

Hey, good one, Paul. Very clever flash story. You've brilliantly shown how much stock in appearance we put, often with little result in the end.

This reminded me of a Mr. Bean episode where Bean went to a secluded beach to take a swim, and he arrived fully clothed. He'd been planning to change into his bathing suit once there, hopefully, by himself. But there was one fellow there, sitting in a beach chair. So Bean, through all sorts of maneuvering, is able to put the suit on over his pants and then remove the pants so that he was never exposed, only to find out afterwards that the guy was blind.

Thanks for the review, Jim. I can't quite figure out how he did that.

Watching him do it made the sketch very funny!

Yes, that would be my idea of a blind date since I am blind. I've been married for 48 years so my husband and permanent boyfriend doesn't mind. I can't imagine going on a blind date these days though, sighted or otherwise. Wonderful flash that will surely do well in the contest.

My very best with this one.
Sal :))

Thanks, Sal. You must have seen something good in your husband. Congratulations on 48 years.

You have met the criteria for a story in seventy-five words. I enjoyed the unexpected ending. Ido not see any room for improvement. Have a blessed day.

Oh. Now she had to rely on her personality. Sometimes it's easier to just rely on your looks. I thought this was going to be a typical girl meets boy story but was delighted with the twist. Thank you for posting. Good luck in the contest. Gretchen

Thanks, Gretchen. Can you believe it? The woman ended up being allergic to the dog.

Well, this story certainly brings a whole new dimension to the idea of a blind date! This was really well done, I thought. It was clever to emphasize how the girl took such pains with how she'd look, and the way the story concluded was also cleverly phrased. It was, indeed, a surprise. Great job. I wish this had been in a contest. Next time, maybe. MM

Thanks, Adonna. I did enter it in the seventy-five word story contest, but I haven't been doing very well lately. I should probably stick to poetry.

Lol, well that was a real 'blind' date! I wonder how he was supposed to know who his date was. This was a real story with a twist in the end, and all told in 75 words. Very well done and good luck in the contest. :)) Sandra xx

oH! I am not sure what to say .The dog would have put her off and it was really a 'blind date'. The person could have told her...Nice entry to the contest .All the best.

Thanks, Sanku. It ended up that she really liked the dog but didn't see eye to eye with the guy.
