I agreed about the art choice. You did a great job with your
poem. I liked the way you expressed your thoughts and feelings.
Your words were well-chosen and created great imagery. I liked
the way each verse started with the same 3 word phrase. Your
rhymes worked well, too. I liked the way you 'spoke' to the reader
about not allowing temptation to rule your life.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

The concept is great; it's a great poem for Holy Week and Easter. Nice classic rhymed quatrain style, it also has that staccato aa bb rhyme scheme that was actually used with such great effect by the Norse saga poets. The repetitions give it that hammering determination and confidence. estory

Thanks so much for your review and rating. I hadn't intended to write in the style of my ancestors - and had no idea that I was doing so. That was a special gift! 'Hammering determination' is a hallmark of the Vikings. Thanks for reminding me of my heritage!

The picture is certainly striking and very dramatic. The theme of the poem is clear and sincere but it surprising how hard it is for anyone to follow. Temptation takes so many forms and they often seem attractive!

Thank you so much for your review and comments. True about it being hard to follow and therefore we need to get strengthend by the Word of God daily in order to withstand temptation. It can have lasting consequences and leave you devastated. Therefore Jesus came into this wayward world to save mankind from falling for those sins. Easter is the time to celebrate both His sacrifice and His victory, making it easier to resist those temptations.

I wish I had a six ****** virtual today. I agree with your words of wisdom. Don't take your eye off the ball. Especially now the dark Lord is in the driver's seat. Jesus watches and waits and the evil one will be chained for 10,000 yrs. Thanks for sharing and a Happy Easter to you. Blessings Kay (horse mad) XX

Dear Kay, Thank you for taking time out to review and rate my poem. I hope you have a very happy Easter, going mad with your horses! We had to leave ours behind when we moved south and really miss them. You seem to have your eyes on the ball and your finger on the pulse of world events as they fulfil prophecy and move headlong towards the climax and Jesus Return. This autumn could well kick things off in Europe with a financial crash to get everyone on a digital currency, though the BRICS nations are fighting back. We live in thrilling times and staying close to Jesus is our only hope for the future.

Hello Gudbjorg, I have no horses now. Full time wheelchair due to traffic accident. Still, we share the love of those beautiful creatures. Blessings, Kay from Australia xx

As long as we live, we will face temptation of some sort in our lives. I find that your poem is very interesting. I know I have had to fight temptation on many things in my life. Patricia.

Dear Patricia, Thank you for your insightful comment and for your review. Perhaps, those who get tempted the most are those who are trying to do the most for the Lord and His Kingdom, to help others. Have a lovely Easter!

I have found during my 80 years of life is, in order to defeat temptation, you need to pray to God to assist you in your efforts, and you have to do your part. If drinking, or gambling, or running around and partying too much. You have to remove those temptations from your life. Leave the cigarettes alone, stay away from the booze, do not go to places where gambling takes place, and above all, stay home and do not run around so much.

Thank you so much for your review, and being an inspiration to me. You really hit the nail on the head: temptation takes so many forms and seeks to trip us up at every turn. Only the Lord can deliver us from it. No wonder the world is getting to be such a mess, as so many turn away from their only hope. Have a lovely Easter!

Dear Gretchen, Thank you for such an encouraging review and I'm glad it gave you some clarity you needed. I know that only Jesus can keep us from temptation--otherwise, we're a lost cause! I hope you have a wonderful Easter, celebrating the first person to every rise from the dead and free us from temptation!

Your words are so true, temptation is God's way of testing us in many ways. Your presentation and rhyming are very well done.

I entered a contest a few years ago on the subject of "Temptation" and was lucky enough to win. I believe that I won because all the voters could relate to the words that I penned in that entry.

I wish you and your family and all the folk in your beautiful country of Iceland a very "Happy Easter...He Is Risen." Bill

Thank you so much for your encouraging review and a 6-star rating! Temptation takes so many forms-perhaps the Devil has a whole department working on this alone! In today's climate, our young people have to be stronger than ever and be real soldiers for the King of kings. Even then, we all have weaknesses that makes Christ's sacrifice today an absolutely essential requirement. A risen Saviour, what a miracle and hope for the future! I hope this weekend is very special for you and your family. God bless!

I love this post dear friend, I've seen that artwork before, and it's such a great prompt, and it portrays perfectly the struggle with temptation we all have in our lives, addiction has lot to do with weakness in that struggle, God dealt with mine forty years ago, thank you for this fantastic post, great rhyming, language and skill, well done, blessings Roy

Dear Roy, Lovely to hear from you and for your encouragement--both in your review and in your rating! How true that addiction leads to weakness in the struggle. It makes me all the more thankful for Jesus, His Easter sacrifice and for the encouragement of His children. Happy Easter! I hope you can share it with your family!

Hi Shelley, Thank you for giving me a 5-star rating and review. I love your horse! They are still my passion since childhood! I wondered about the 'ð' after your name--I thought only we Icelanders use that but no-one can reproduce it. My name is actually Guðbjörg but it flummoxes officialdom!
