Hello G, this is a timely poem. Temptation seems to be everyone, and the "Me" generation is so use to instant gratification that they easily fall into temptation. As the saying goes, "If it's too good to be true, then it's too good to be true."

Your poem reads and flows well, and your message is clear. Your poem has good rhyming within. I also like how your repeat, "Don't let temptation" throughout the poem. Of special note:

Every time that you fail to stand
You'll lose and life will go out of hand.

(G, it is not how your fall or how many times you fall, but how you get up.)

Well-chosen photo. Well done. I'm sorry that you missed the contest, but thank you for still sharing this poem. Xo. M

Dear M, Thank you for your review and rating and for sharing such powerful and true thoughts. Reaching this generation is certainly not as easy as our generation was! I hope you have a wonderful Easter celebration.

I'm glad you still posted it. It's perfect for the coming Easter holiday, and Jesus. He was offered a way out of certain death, but refused because this was his destiny and the way to save his children. Temptation is rife everywhere. Very well done, Gudbjorg. Warm hugs, Sandra xx

Dear Sandra, Thank you for your uplifting and encouraging review - and, of course, for the 5-star rating. It's beautiful to see your understanding of Jesus' sacrifice. It seems that there are three things we can be certain of in this life: death, taxes and temptation! We wouldn't have a hope if Jesus hadn't resisted His temptation. Have a wonderful Easter celebration!

You did a great job with this poem. Your rhyming is flawless and the message is clear. Giving in to temptation is always easy, undoing the harm and remorse that follow is not. Thanks for sharing even if you missed the contest deadline.

Thank you for writing such an encouraging review - and for giving the poem a 5-star rating! Why is it that, if temptation is so easy, we're not more aware of its dangers-until too late? It really puts Jesus' sacrifice on the cross into perspective!

Too bad you missed the contest. This would have been a great entry. I enjoyed this simple, beautifully written poem with excellent rhyme and a good cadence. You've made a good case against the pitfalls of temptation and illustrated it with an outstanding picture. Very good job.

I think we are all tempted at some time in our lives, if it is not food, it is an opportunity we are not entitled to, and we overindulge on occasions. Not to give in to temptation is a difficult thing to resist and I enjoyed your fine advice here. Obesity is a huge problem all over the world and an early death is the price these people pay for it. Love Dolly x

Dear Dolly, Thank you so much for your review and for sharing your insight, confirming it in such a practical way. The Devil certainly knows how to 'press our buttons' and trip us up. The funny thing is, God has already forgiven His children through the sacrifice we're celebrating over the next few days. Happy Easter!

This is a very well written call a cautionary tale and a bit of hope for the future!
Clearly you have put thought and effort into this palm and it shows. The arriving is good and so is your flow. I find no issues with your poem aesthetically speaking or dramatically speaking it's all quite well done. The picture you chose is dramatic and catches the eye an excellent job. I don't believe your home requires any tweaking or anything to change on it. It's already quite good so I wish you best of luck and thank you for your submission and look forward to your next one have a great day!

The image and message are very well presented here and I particularly enjoyed the imagery of the second stanza. I would only say that, while the meter count is faultless, sometimes this takes priority over the rhythm and flow of the verse (You'll lose your focus out of your hand) which can sometimes sound a bit clumsy. Many thanks for sharing, Debbie

Thank you so much, Debbie, for your in-depth review. In trying to be perfect in meter, you are right, I lost the rhythm and flow to some extent. Thank you for giving it 5 stars, anyway. Have a wonderful Easter!
