There certainly seems to be a lot more meaning to all the eggs that show up for Easter. As an adult, a hard-boiled egg has it's play, but as a child, I liked those plastic eggs that were hidden with money inside. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

This is a really interesting history of the Easter egg, and I hadn't heard before about what the three parts of the egg were thought to represent. I didn't know how far back the tradition of Easter eggs went. Using plastic eggs seems very practical, especially when a great number of children are involved. They would especially like finding some kind of treat inside. I've read that the cost of eggs has risen so much, some people are decorating potatoes to use instead of eggs. Great presentation, perhaps a bit wordy. judi

I like this detailed writing about the common egg and how uncommon and how beautiful it can be.
I've always believed there's only two pure foods on this earth because of their coverings.
One is the banana and the other is the egg.
But what association do they each have with each other??
Of course the egg represents birth in all forms of life.
But what does the banana represent? Besides, you're supposed to eat at least one a day!
They are filled with potassium which is rich and needed for brain function.
While the egg instead is filled with cholesterol.
There ain't no yolk in about it!
Humpty Dumpty fell off the wall. We got to wonder why?

Interesting but another diversion from the true meaning of Easter just as Santa is about Christmas. One possible spag. Easter eggs have a Tri(ni)tarian symbolism.

I enjoyed reading your story about eggs. I learned a lot about Easter eggs. My mom grew up in the Catholic Eastern Rite. On Saturday, we took a basket with everything we needed for easter breakfast. It included: ham, kielbasa, bread, eggs, horseradish, salt, butter, mustard, etc. The first thing we did on Easter morning was cut a blessed egg into enough pieces for everyone at the table. Then we finished the blessed breakfast. I do not see any room for improvement. Have a blessed day.

The eggs and rabbits were fertility syllables what Christian adopted because it feel near their passover celebration. That we adopted the fertility symbals and tryed to make them sound Christian is like the country singer who has the song about soldier trying to convert a deck of cards into his Bible.
