What a beautiful sky in the picture. I'm not sure if it inspired the poem or if you wrote the poem first, but they go together perfectly. The senses of sight, smell and touch all respond to this one. Oh, let spring come.

The picture came first. Sometimes I get inspired by a picture.

I like your modern tanka poem- beautiful picture presentation- poem shows a continuous thought pattern and progression with a measured use of metaphors -not over done- nice- light between clouds- bring promise of a fertile land with rain - good job AP

Such a gorgeous image and poem. Yellow makes it look so mellow, serene, love it. Pitter patter of raindrops gives us freshwater for the living. It gives us nitrogen.

Hi Gypsy Queen,
such contrast to what I just read of your last tanka. This tanka shows possibility, renewal and offers up hope.

Everyone needs a dose of positivity to boost the energy levels. The first two lines holds' me in a suspension of time with such beauty in its connection with a breaking of a new and exciting dawn.

Yes, what you do best... compose, construct and match everything on the page to enhance, magnify and solidify you intention.

Beautiful!

With our thoughts we create...
possibilities.

Kindest regards,
James.

Can't lie... been going through a tad physically that has kept me away from writing and Fanstory. I'm going to try and ease back into things and cross my finger and toes. Hope everything with you is good.

Your poem caused me to pause at the last two lines, and I'm left wondering how much rain would we need in this part of Texas to actually have fertile ground. Then I began to wonder if it's only rain, we're lacking. Even with all the rain we've gotten this spring, we're still on water restrictions. I did enjoy reading.

Of course water is the source of life, and along with a few other objects of metaphoric wonder, plays a a powerful role in poetry, as it cleverly does in this poem. Well done Gypsy, blessings Roy

Hi Gypsy, your poem is beautifully penned with good imagery.

Of special note:
filled with promises
of a fertile land
in each raindrop

(Nice.)

Great photos. Beautiful presentation. A pleasure to read. Keep the blue waters flowing. Xo. M

I'm always impressed by the vivid colour with which you infuse your verse. It's as if you're painting with words. This poem is no exception. Clever association of "cascades" with "rain drop". And I love the further association of fertility with both life giving rain and the pregnant shape of a raindrop.

Thanks for sharing.

Blessings, Julia

This is a lovely tanka. The word "fertile" suits the idea of the poem perfectly. "Clouds filled with promises" I wish I had thought of that.
Taken all together--a wonderful poem!
