Well, the debt that I was going to pay this week for last week, I just added to for next week. I am kinda like the government as the ceiling just keeps rising. But I just have to call this a six because I got the whole six from Willie. And there were six stars that you mentioned that I loved so you all get my six.
Awesome story and info Terry. Seems to me that there was a time that Willie was also helping the farmers as a debt relief or something like that and didn't that have something to do with taxes too?

I love Willie Nelson and one of my shows that I went to, I sat next to our old governor, Jesse Ventura (also wrestler) and his campaign manager who happens to be from my home town and use to date my older sister. So I got to hang out with them after the show, with pictures, as well as got to be in a picture with Willie before the show. Part of the perks of being a diamond member at the casino where we got these tickets for free. (You don't even want to know what those tickets really cost me, in the long run)

Never got into the marijuana until they put me on the medical stuff about five years ago. I save the THC for bedtime, but had to quit cause it was great for my creative nature, but the problem was that by the time I got the iPad out, I forgot what I was going to write. So I now have six months of the expensive powerful stuff sitting in my fridge and not being used. I just don't like that kind of euphoria. It isn't me.
They'll even let me smoke it as long as I don't share. But, if I wanted to smoke anything, I would do cigarettes again. Still miss them, but nope it has been too long without them. See, Willie brings out the rebel in me. I would have to say he is my favorite singer for Country, with the other odd voice guy, Johnny Cash coming in second. But for the smooth tone of Country/Rock it has to be Marty Robbins and Jim Reeves. And I only remember Jim because of the albums that my parents had. So anyway, now that I added a story or two to your story I will shut up. But it was so awesome to read that I couldn't help sharing the memories it jogged.
Thanks Terry!!!!

Willie and I thank you for the six stars!

But here is the deal. There is a contest, "Share your Story." You got the bones of that story right here. Write about what you covered in the review...flush it a bit...it has the dynamics of good prose story. If you want more ideas about it let me know. Terry.

I just loved your story, Terry, it brought back lots of memories for me. I've always been a fan of Willie's music, and would always turn the radio up when he came on, much to my parents annoyance! Lol. Faron Young must have known what the song would be worth and was decent enough to lend the Willie the money instead. What a lot of money he did make out of it! I really enjoyed this, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

I really like the last sentence:
None of us had any disappointment with the music. The Outlaw ruled.

Everyone has to have some fun once in a while even though it meant to break the law, just a little.

Excellent.

Your writing is faultless as is your power of description and ability to infuse the reader with the love and enthusiasm you so clearly have for this man and the music he creates. What a great tribute to Willie! I have always loved Rock and Roll but Willie is one of my favorite country stars. I've always been impressed how he manages to get himself out of trouble and is still going (maybe not so strong) at ninety.

I think it's a great essay, well written with plenty of personality, and it really paints a complete picture of Willie Nelson, good and bad points. He was an unapologetic defender of the ideals of freedom, in your essay, but also a breaker of laws, and we seem to see him here just rolling with the punches and being true to himself. Lots of details about the guitars, the beer and nachos that set the scene in the music hall, the old radio country songs, the conflict between old fashioned Baptist Southern values and the new excitment of rock and roll and electric country really liven up the piece. estory

What a delightful story. For sure, Willy Nelson's life was one of success. Love your opening bit. What a profit he made. I'm glad the IRS caught up to him though.

Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain is one of my favorite songs. My blue-eyed son was killed in a hunting accident, and the song always made me think of him. Your story is interesting and skillfully written.

Hi Terry, no I have to admit I've never heard of Willie 'the outlaw'. But he seemed to have been well known at the in the States. I liked this narrative, and I especially thought the ending was rather funny. Ulla:)))

A very interesting story. I enjoyed reading it ,though I am not familiar with the singer. I will definitely check him out.
I am familiar with Jim Reeves and Cliff Richards.. are they also classified as Country Musicsingers?

Thanks for reading. I doubt Willie made a tour to your "neck of the woods." Jim Reeves is a country singer, died many years ago in a plane crash. I am not familiar with Cliff Richards, I am thinking he is a pop singer. Terry.
