A very interesting article. I did not know these things about Willie and I suppose many others did not also. Thank you for sharing your knowledge of the great performer.

The writing was real good. The story was great. The memories were even better.
The metamorphosis of rock and roll music to acid, psychedelic, and then heavy metal didn't appeal to me. I thought the "New" country music had become rock and roll. At least I liked it better. - I have said the EXACT same thing!
Best wishes.

Exceptional post from content -- obviously based on both reseach and personal memory - to presentation. The personal notes and memories make this piece memorable! Excellent job. You mentioned all the right songs and experiences to make the case for Willie's longevity. And to allow the reader to relive many memories of their own. Love it. ann

Maybe one typo --?
Revees -- thought it was Reeves. You may be correct

That's all? Ten states? Only time I ever took a hit, and that was twice and only one hit, was '2 in a penny-ante poker game that had been played for 36 hours and after a case of beer, I fell asleep in twenty minutes for twenty-four hours.
The second time was our equipment broke and my teammate and I was grounded on Kodiak ISland. Hitchiking we were picked up by a hippie van and offered a stone pipe with grass and seeds in it. I could have but being friendly didn't and got one puff. Didn't do a thing for me.
