I could read on forever! Your posts are wonderfully fluent and riveting and, no matter what's going on with your ageing process, you have this enviable ability to be incredibly humorous and upbeat. You don't need me to say it but you have creativity in your (hopefully unbroken) bones. Well done! I'm still looking for your post on Living whilst Dying which I read on the welcome page and for which I congratulate you for your contest placing. A remarkable piece which again absorbed me all the way through. Utterly compelling! Thanks Wendy. Take care (literally!) Debbie

Lol. What a super review. Thank you so much for the amazing six stars. It makes me very happy that you enjoyed it so much. You?ll enjoy the sequel too, I am sure. It?s called " A helpful checklist". So far so good re broken bones. Just that once, (when it wasn?t a clean break but several fragments of bone torn off, plus plenty of ligament and tendon damage.)
Glad you enjoyed "Living while dying" too. It?s about 30 or 32 pieces back, written on April 2.
    Thank you again. Much appreciated.

I've read and reviewed 'A helpful checklist' and loved that one too. Will now check out that other post.

Thanks Debbie. Unfortunately it has expired so won?t pay anything. It?s very different.

Hello Wendy,
Well done on your story. I suppose most of us on this site can relate to it pretty well. I have a T-shirt with the same saying as your cup. Although my body is telling me that I'm getting old, my mind( when it's working) has a hard time fathoming the facts. It's really distressing, frankly. There are so many things I'd like to do, but they all seem to require more strength and agility than what I possess now. Thanks for sharing gal.
Have a blessed day.
Tom

Hi Tom, thank you for a wonderful review and six stars. So very much appreciated. We are all going through it or about to go through it. Life is not long enough to accomplish everything we would like to, but a revised list of achievable smaller goals will help us to feel we are still accomplishing things. Blessings to you, Tom. (Btw there is another story with a "Helpful Checklist" which you might also enjoy.)

I love it, Wendy. You have certainly covered a lot of things that go along with getting older. But your writing certainly doesn't brand you as old. I really like the lines: "I'm old enough to do what I want, and I don't really care what people think. That's a definite sign of being old!" Inside every one of us older ladies, there is still an adventurous teenager.

So right. We still feel the same (young inside) so it?s strange to think we?re really getting on in years. Thank you for the wonderful six star rating. Much appreciated.

I enjoyed reading this. You've done well at writing it with humour. As someone in my 40s with several friends who are ill, people to pray for at church and a dad who moans about every ache and pain, I sometimes seem to be talking about medical stuff all the time. It's refreshing to find someone like me who doesn't want to do that!

Lol. Great review. Trouble is that medical stuff takes up a lot of time for older people and unless they consciously develop other interests and hobbies, it tends to preoccupy not only time but thoughts. The main thing is to be as active as possible in body, mind and spirit. Thanks for a super review.

Ha ha ha. Love it. So funny but not funny really. I can so relate to it. I love the message on the mug.
I always said I will do more writing when I get old and finally realized it has happened. Well hey ho. Take care. Jen.

Lol. Yes, it comes unexpectedly, like an unwanted surprise gift, which we can?t return. Thank you for the amazing six stars. Much appreciated and valued!

My mother used to call her doctors "those little boys" and often say "growing old ain't for sissies." I can now relate. I love that you write about our "getting wiser" with humor. What else is left? Write is a sure cure against becoming"rusty."

I read about a woman whose house was broken into, she was tied up. She got untied after the boys left & the police soon got them. The funny fact you may appreciate, is she was 70! I said, "That poor old lady." I was 72!
Another fellow got trapped walking in deep snow.He was 68! I said, "That poor old man."
I was 70! I have so many more responses but this is enough.

Lol. We still feel young on the inside. And some people younger than us look a lot older! Thanks for reviewing - I enjoyed your anecdotes.

Getting old does, indeed, require a sense of humor. Because I have six cats at the age of seventy-seven, I have become known as the crazy old cat lady who lives down the road. Like you, I don't care what people say. My dog and I are happy with our feline family. Cute story, and so true. Nice writing.

Exactly. We are at the age where we can decide what makes us happy and do it, no longer need or desire to conform to the expectations or ideas of others. There are some advantages to this getting old thing. Thanks so much for reviewing.

Excellent, your descriptions of what makes us feel old are so true, often it is not ourselves that think age has caught us but the words and actions of others, even though some comments may be made in jest they still refer to our age, a wonderful read, very well written****kahpot

Yes, that's right - we still feel young inside, but the words of others imply otherwise! Thank you for your insightful review.

You're lucky you can think about getting old. Somehow it happened for me when I wasn't looking. You have a delightfully playful sense of humor and I enjoy reading your plotting against the signs of getting older.

Lol. Thanks Carol. Yes, it comes often as a sudden awareness - we still feel young inside and not ready to be classified as "old". Lol. Thanks for reviewing, always appreciated.
