I'd never heard of them before, but they sound an amazing couple. I'm sure with some of the foster children's permission, they could make a film about them that would raise awareness about foster carers and inspire others.

Thank you, Sarah. That would be an excellent way to promote foster caring. The hard reality might be off -putting to some, however. Their quiet background work, all for Jesus and in His Name, was inspiring to me. Thank you for a lovely review, very thoughtful.

What an amazing story of mothering. It takes special people to be able to do this and give love and comfort to so many damaged children, us their own Kombi full. Beautifully told Wendy, thanks for sharing their story. It is nice to read of love and compassion in the real world. Cheers

I agree, she is a super mum. I love that she took time for her own children and then reached out to so many more. Some may not remember her because they were too little, but she made a huge difference in the time they needed her.
Thanks for sharing this inspiring story.

What an inspirational story. Maybe her daughter can turn it all into a biography or better yet, a screenplay. You give many examples of the problems orphan babies have. So sad about the child in the same diaper for days. For some, that really got to me!

Thank you very much, Shari, for your thoughtful and compassionate review. Yes, that bit got to me too. There would have been a lot of chafing and severe nappy rash. And the poor heroin babies - what a horrific start to life.

What a wonderful mission in life. Foundations built on love and order are incredibly important. Coming from a decidedly insecure childhood, with warring parents, and negative influences, I have found the security of a Loving God, and the outworking of that non chaotic acceptance, and God finding me, which was important, the thought of a personal, omnipotent loving God rescued me. The importance of kids coming into a loving, nurturing environment, is so important, Beautifully written, blessings, Roy

Hello Wendy,
thanks for sharing this great story with us. Once our seven children were grown up, I used to wonder if it would be plausible for us to do any foster care, but I realized that neither Jan nor I had the patience to be able to do it. I applaud those whom God has called to do this important work. It gives these neglected children a chance to change their lives and get them headed in the right direction. Happy Mother's day gal.
Tom

Thank you very much Tom. I am so glad you enjoyed it, and I thank you very much for the six stars. Very special to me. Yes, it is a very difficult job, but they both had a strong sense of God's calling. It's not for everyone.

Another heart warming story, Wendy. This one really appropriate on Mother's Day. I can't imagine doing what they did. They are, clearly, very special people.

Oh my! What a giant you introduced to us. (You do introduce us to the most noble beings!) I admit I could never have done what she has done - such love - such unselfishness - such wisdom - such strength, and more! This makes me realize all my inadequacies! Happy Mother's Day, Carolyn Stedman!

Thank you for sharing this wonderful couple with us. I admire them both greatly. It's difficult to work with children who life dealt them a difficult start. I enjoyed reading.

Thank you Barbara. Yes, they are making a difference in their small corner, and will likely never know the full impact of their love and care.
