Timely. Relevant. Necessary.

This is a genuine and enlightening look into an ever-increasing reality. Your words are powerful; they needed to be. The presentation adds effectively to the imagery.

Their gift "that they gave with love so willingly" is priceless.

You are a master of words, my friend. Thank you for reminding us of that through this meaningful message. - Jamison

This is a great poem that has an intriguing form. I especially like this line:
cold barren streets, corridors of home
This seems to suggest that too many veterans are forgotten or nearly so. I wonder if it was inspired in part by certain headlines from this week, although it could also go back in time 50 years to after Vietnam as well.

Thank you very much, I have mainly referred to the Vietnam vets here, here in Australia they don't really headline them at all which I think is disgraceful, as always very much appreciated****kahpot

It is a tragedy the way our gov't allows this to happen
and continue- year after year. You did a great job with
your contest entry, Kahpot. Your presentation worked
well from the sad art choice to the stark color scheme
whi9ch highlights their plight. Great job with the syllable
count as required. Your words were descriptive, sadly true,
and included an added bonus of rhyme.
Thanks for sharing and caring.
Best wishes in the contest, Jan

Fabulous tribute to those veterans who are still suffering from experiencing the battlefield and now are wandering the streets without the support they need despite all their sacrifices.
Hope this does well in the contest!

Your poetic form and use of words captures the path of so many veterans.
"Unhinged stability" is a powerful line that gives me chills. Your words give a voice to so many homeless veterans that should not be homeless. Excellent writing with a strong message.

Hi Kahpot, after reading your poem, it's plain to see that the homelessness of our Veterans is a global problem. Your poem reads and flows well, and your message is clear. Good rhyming scheme. Of special note:

that they gave with love so willingly
(I don't think the Gen Z will be so willing to serve in the Military. God only help us should there be a war.)

Great photo choice. Well done. A timely poem. Margaret ~ LateBloomer

I always wonder if the homeless person I saw in the street was a veteran. As a country, we don't take good care of them and we owe them so much. Well done, Kym.

I feel fir all our veterans homeless for being out on the streets having to bed for food or a safe place to sleep. The zgovernent should take better care of our men and women serving our country. Victims of wars that have come and gone and yet to be.these people suffer because we don't want to deal with them.
