Dear Poet, I'm glad your Mom
got away from that. My
father was a selective abuser.
Us three kids in the middle
were abused, the oldest and
youngest siblings and my
mother were spared. I didn't
really feel sad when I heard
a few years ago he passed
away. Your poignant story
here happens way too often
in a lot of families. I hope
you have a blessed weekend
and good luck in the contest

This is a powerful verse with stunning images conveyed through colour. There is immense impact though your words and particularly "tumefied" which conjures up so much pain and suffering. My only wish (my view only) is that in its poetic form it could have been a little less of a list and possibly more structured with rhyme but I accept that may well have detracted from your very strong message of abuse. Great job nonetheless. Good luck Debbie

Thank you so much for your review, Debbie. I will try to write another version, with rhymes etc. Time was a factor in writing this.
