I enjoyed this story. It is so relatable as children do have a way of being so innocently truthful that it makes the adult telling the - fib - not look so good. I have been there with my kids. A great entry for the 100 word flash. Thank you for sharing.

The burning truth sounds like the level we are most all use to. Truth can set us free, but it can also get us locked up or worse. LOL. Thanks for sharing your fun an entertaining read.

I assume the boyfriend and the husband were two different people? You are right, the words of children are direct and honest, and can at times cause embarrassment. Best wishes for your entry.

Ha ha ha, trust kids to drop you in it! If you are returning a pair of shoes that have obviously not been worn and the policy of the shop is to refund, then why do they ask lots of questions when you return them! Don't feel guilty, you are only exercising your legal right. You made me smile here, love Dolly x
