I have concerns with the readability level of your poem. Some of the words you use in the poem appear to me to be at a relatively high reading level, at a level where a child is moving into the preteen years. I can't picture reading this to a class when I was teaching elementary school, at least not the lower grades. Best of luck in the contest.

As an artist, I was especially entertained by this verse. First, it reminded me of how much joy I got from coloring as a child. I did not know then that I would become an artist and eventually teach drawing and painting to children. This allowed me to experience that thrill all over again. Your poem tells this colorful story.

My Grandchildren obtain a great deal of pleasure from colouring with crayons in their books and you paid a tribute here to those tools that help children to learn and encourage their imagination to blossom, I enjoyed your wise words and your colourful words, love Dolly x
