Another fine poem, Gypsy----captures the feeling of intensity that burns brighter when you sense the end but cling to hope that somehow you're wrong. Been there, done that

Such a wonderfully passionate verse, Gypsy. You can feel the energy and brokenness hope as the embers fade into cold ashes. Well done and a joy to read.

This was a heart warming tanka, Gypsy. The dual pictures were enticing because they showed the storm, the ocean and the feelings. Your words definitely expressed the joy and fear felt. Blessed Be n Hugs!!!

Hello, thank you for participating in the japanese poetry club event. Great entry with a good syllable count and connection between lines. Beautiful presentation and imagery. The satori is a good twist.

Very dramatic. It made me see the descriptions. The dying embers made me wonder if it was the embers in her heart or his that were dying. Possibly both. Another fascination poem. Gretchen

Thank you very much, Gretchen :) Tanka is supposed to be dramatic and usually about passionate love and grief. It originated in the Imperial Court where lovers wrote a tank for one another after a night of love making.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful heartbreaking poem with us. Yes, love often rages like a storm and leaves us with emotions of dying embers. This poem is sensual in an unexpected way.

Sometimes it takes time to get over a broken relationship, you have to have been deeply involved with someone to know the pain involved in the process of breaking up. Beautifully written Gypsy, great post, blessings Roy

I have known tempestuous love and it is exhausting and damning and you captured the atmospheric perfectly here with your dark words, much enjoyed, love Dolly x
