I read the original, Terry, and it was great.
I liked this update on the whole process.
While you had to choose another picture, I
don't believe you will want to change it now.
If so, then some of the lines referring to it in
the text would need to be deleted. I found it
disheartening the way the committee talked
down to you about this great story. I wonder
what their credentials are--degrees, awards,
published work, jobs in related fields, etc.
If they talk the talk, then do they walk the walk?
I'm thrilled you went on with your endeavor to
publish.

I intend to search your portfolio for the post you mentioned. I have my five grandkids converging at our house in about three weeks and intend to read it to them and have my two oldest read it themselves. My granddaughter devours books.

John thank you for the six stars and your kind words. The story has been disabled. I have disabled most of my portfolio. I never intended on publishing a book, but this story took a life of its own. I will keep you posted as it develops.Terry

Unfortunately, there are many reasons the FS community reviews the way they do, but publishing a piece does not come to mind when they read another work. Thus I read for pure pleasure without thinking the writer has publication in mind, and I'm sure I'm not the only one that reviews that way.

Terry, in my humble opinion, the thing you need most to succeed, you already have, and that is belief in yourself. Experts are proven wrong all the time. There were people who scoffed at the idea of cars taking people over roads of great distances, airplanes flying people over continents, ships taking men to the moon and bringing them back to earth alive and unharmed. Let the scoffers scoff. They may be experts, but they are not infallible. No human on Earth besides Jesus Christ, who has never been wrong or mistaken. I say go for it.

I just put my book Miranda Chronicles on the market. Used Amazon. It's honestly not that bad. But I had to edit myself. I also had my daughter to whip up the cover. Honestly, getting the cover to upload was the most difficult. Good luck with this venture. BTW, not that I probably makes a difference, but your writing is awesome. Definitely not amateurish. I always look forward to your posts. Gretchen
