I like what you did with the poem. I love that you chose the kazoo for the instrument. The kazoo brings back memories from college. Best of luck in the contest.

Kazoos are such fun and your delightful poem brings back sweet memories of elementary school and of my children when they were that age.
Well done.

Hi Dragonskulls,
Not many people yearn to lean how to play the kazoo. But to each his own.
Are there different sizes kazoos? I and see why you would have the blues or want to play the blues because of how few people think of the kazoo as something to play in a band.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Good luck in the contest with this quatern.
Have a good week,
Joan

Thank you for the great review,Joan. I'm not sure if there's many different varieties of the kazoo. When I found this picture, it was the first time I saw one with a horn on top to make it louder. Lol. There's numerous videos on YouTube with people playing the kazoo, even orchestras full of kazoo players. I really appreciate the generous stars. You have yourself a great week as well.

I truly enjoyed your poem and I hope you're doing well. Anyone can play anything and play the blues. People who have ever felt the blues understand. Ha I thought it was true but it was a rhyming thing. That's cute either way. used to play pencils. Best wishes to you, Alex

I never would have thought of a kazoo as a serious instrument. It's just a bunch of hot air. That is what makes your poem creative. When I taught preschool, I bought kazoos for a group of three-year old kids. What a mistake. They loved them. It gave me a headache. I never wanted to hear or read the word kazoo again, until now. Great poem and picture. Best wishes in the contest.

Of all the instruments the kazoo is probably the one requiring the least skill. As long as you can hold a tune you're in, the Membrane does the rest. Go on give it another go. Lol.

This is a clever write with a melancholy theme. I loved the yearn to beat the blues here and your repeated lines drove home the point. A soulful write full of subtle double meanings. An ideal post for the contest and I reckon this is a winner, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Thank you so much for the fantastic review and big sixer, Dolly. I just had to go with something different than a usual instrument. When I found this picture, he looks to me like some sort of blues player, so I went with that. Lol. I dearly appreciate the gracious rating, Dolly. I'm glad you liked the piece. Thank you again.

Lol. Well let me be honest and say that the kazoo is not my favourite instrument - but I did enjoy your poem! Cleverly constructed, and different, so I wish you well for the contest.

Thank you for the great review, Wendy. Yeah, I don't think the kazoo is at the top of too many people's lists. Lol. It's amazing what some folk can do with them though. There's some YouTube videos with numerous people playing them and it sounds pretty darn good. I'm glad you liked my little addition to the contest, W. Thanbk you again.
