This poem besides being well written and rhymed is told from your heart! These is no better to write an honor to our soldiers other then from the heart.
It becomes not words on a paper, but one's heart and soul.
Thank you gif honoring these four in particular and every other soldier who's served.

Excellent poem about your family soldiers sacrifice in all the wars. I'm sorry for your loss. Veterans are not treated as they deserve. I will say thank you if I see one.

Mystery Author. Regardless of contest, this is an
exceptional poem which highlights some of the
wars the US has been involved in. Many poems are
all inclusive of every military men and women. However
to add names of some of those individuals made it even
more special, though poignant. Those names 'brought
it home' made it real and showed true sacrifice. Each military
individual is/was a hero. A hero is an ordinary person
who acts in an extraordinary way as did each of your family
members. Great presentation in rhymes, flow, image, and
imagery.

I love how you arranged the poem to go from one generation to the next. You covered 100 years of serving in the military covering four generations of people serving in the US military. I also love how you were able to highlight some service which doesn't get written about a lot (chaplain and medic).

Your poem captures a legacy of service to our country and its cause for freedom by your family and loved ones. Your dad's service reminds me of my father's efforts, both as a son of a widow. Your boyfriend's story sort of stopped the poem for a moment. Well done. Terry.

And so you have a right to be proud of these brave men who served their country with distinction and honor. While we honor them with two holidays a year, we should honor them the other 363 days a year.
