Good story. Patricia wasn't so dumb after all. Too bad he didn't have time to realize that before he died. He probably just thought it was an accident. It would really help those of us with old eyes if you used Advanced Editor and enlarged the print next time. Good luck in the contest.

I will try to do that. For some reason, it doesn't want to cooperate with me. I've tried to use it a couple of times, but I have an "adopted son" (not officially) but he has a degree in tech so I will get him to see about it.

I kept getting the same complaint about my font being too small. It took me a while to figure it out, too. I know that once you've saved your post, then you go back to Edit and then to Advanced Editor You have to highlight the document to Bold, Italicize, change fonts and font size. Computers are all different though and maybe yours has a different set up. I hope your son can help you. On a different note, I have no biological children, but a young family that has adopted me as their Nana. As far as I'm concerned, to me, the youngsters are my grandchildren. Sometimes, although there are no genetic links, the relational bonds develop in the heart for those of us who are so fortunate.

Great story of revenge. I think it does a man well to remember that woman are the smarter of the two sexes.

One catch to fix:
She greeted him, walked with him to dining room, and made him a scotch on the rocks.
(the dining room)

Minor. Good write up. Good luck!

This is a sad write, but I enjoyed the revenge at the end. No one should be treated like this and once the abuse starts it never stops until the victim leaves the relationship. An inventive story and I enjoyed the ride here, although I am sorry that you suffered as a child when you witnessed your Father abuse your Mother. Love Dolly x

Dolly, thank you so much for the beautiful stars and the lovely review. Because of what I witnessed, I vowed no man would ever put his hands on me. None have. My ex-husband punched his truck door and dented it in, a boyfriend punched a metal post, and my late husband got mad one time when we were arguing and smacked the wall so hard he made a hole (lol), however none of them touched me in anger. I thought I had broken the cycle. Sadly, no. My oldest daughter's ex-husband abused her and their kids both mentally and physically. My younger daughter has been in 2 relationships with men that abused her both ways, and one of them abused her child, as well.

Well constructed story and even though we don't condone murder as a means of obtaining justice, we feel for the victim whose last resort for freedom means killing the abuser. Good luck with the contest!!!

Thank you so much! I agree that violence is not the answer, and she should have just left, but I felt this gave the story a better twist. Thank you so much for reviewing.
