This poem, Beneath the Tranquil Sheen, makes me wonder if we should change the old saying "Like water off a duck's back" to that of a swan. This bird is the symbol of the unfazed outer appearance perhaps covering a worn and weary soul. Nice verse.

Excellent reminder. What at first glance may seem calm in demeanor, one has no idea of the turmoil that a person may be undergoing out of the sight of onlookers. Judge not, and make no mistakes. Until or unless you know for sure, never underestimate another man's struggles.

Very nicely done, Jessica. It amazes me how some animals mate for life. In that respect, they are superior to humans in my mind's eye. We have no swans in my area. We have geese.
