I do not know if I'd have the strength to do what Daniel's parents did. I'd like to think so, but the very thought of my grandchild being taken catches me up and I'm lost in the sorrow! How tragic that Daniel's perpetrator could have been caught so much sooner! This is not the first time I've heard of such obvious information being tucked away or overlooked because it didn't fit a preconceived agenda.

Bless this family for all they have endured ~ and all they have given of themselves to alert and educate others, in order to help alleviate such incredible sorrow for yet another family.

This online predator threat is so insidious. We need eyes and ears everywhere and never know who may be on the prowl!

God Bless Daniel. God Bless his family...

What a reunion that will be in heaven!

Thank you for picking up the typo! Twenty-five previous reviews - and I read it multiple times myself - and no one else saw the typo. I appreciate you, taking the time to read everything so carefully. What a gem you are!

Thank you for sharing the Morcombe family's story. How terrible to lose a child that way! And how awful that the superior police officer didn't pay attention at the right time. But what a beautiful thing that the family took their suffering to help others avoid losing their children. It's good that their grandson was made hyper aware of the possible dangers of even online predators!

Thank you so much, Helen. This was a very hard story to research and write, but felt their work needed to be acknowledged and also I hope that some will check out and perhaps use the free resources.

Thank you for sharing this story, Wendy. How devastating it must have been for those parents, but they turned their grief and sorrow into helping others to avoid the same situations. How sad that the thumb drive was discovered so long after.

A well told story both tragic and inspirational. How sad that the policeman's file was ignored. Things like this happen too often! How frightening about the online predator! Parents do need to keep track of their vulnerable young ones.

You find the most incredible people to write about. Daniel's parents turned a tragedy into an organization that helps so many other families. So true that they could have let it shut them down, but they didn't and they blessed so many others with their actions.
Excellent storytelling as you describe what happened to Daniel and how his parents reacted.

Thank you very much! A most compassionate and thoughtful review. I am trying to write about ordinary people who are making a difference, such as these. I am glad you are enjoying the stories, although this one wasn?t so enjoyable.

Thanks, Wendy, for sharing this story. It sounds like the family might be known to you and if so, I'm very sorry for your loss.

Here in England, I don't remember hearing about Daniel before, or the work being done by his parents. It is amazing (and admirable) - the way some people rise above their natural grief and make life better for others because of what they've faced.

No, I don?t know them personally but they have been interviewed many times on tv firstly when it happened and then each year as they spoke about what they were doing, and I saw a tv program the other night where they spoke about the distress and the grief of waiting for eight years for an arrest when it could have been two weeks. Thank you so much for your very caring words and also for the honour of six stars. Greatly valued.

Wow! What a sad but important story to be shared over and over to enlighten our children and their parents to the tragedies that lurk behind the enjoyment they find in our multi media. I feel we tend to trust our media items as secure when actually they leave an open door to predators. Thanks for reminding us!

This is an amazing story and one I'm sure has made a huge difference on the lives of many and has likely prevent unnecessary deaths. The computer is a more recent danger for luring children. At least two cases in this country of abductions have inspired the parents to do the same thing this couple is doing. I wonder how the parents grief and community action affected the twin brother. I'm sure he was grieving too. The police inaction concerning the suspect is a big part of this story.

Thank you very much, Beth, for your thoughtful and insightful review. They kept the other siblings out of public view at all times, but the trauma for the twin must have been extreme. I can?t imagine losing a twin in such frightful circumstances. Thanks again.

Hi Wendy, thanks a lot for sharing this tragic and true story with us. It must have a harrowing time for the parents to lose their child to such a predator. It's the worst. I'm only glad that they did find the culprit and even that is tainted with a twist that shouldn't have happened. I can see how it must have given the parents some solace with all the activities, calling for awareness. Lots of regards, Ulla:)))

An excellent and very informative read, it is so unfortunate that one policeman did not agree with the other, an early conviction would have helped the parents grieving, very well written and thank you for this story****kahpot

Thank you Kahpot. Yes, that was so wrong of him not to bother checking out the recommendations even if he didn't agree with them.
Thank you for your encouraging review.
