I liked your exhortation to write complete with finger bending warm up exercises! Great rhyming throughout. My favorite lines were:
"Use God's ink from Heaven's golden pen,
Write with your soul and do it again."
I had to look up "Naked Lunch" as I am not familiar with Burroughs.

Thank you for the review. As you know doubt have discovered, Burroughs was an odd duck in the middle of the 'beat' era. Still, he is a historical figure within American literature.

Ah. Good to know. Alas, I think I know Russian literature more than American. Beyond Melville, Faulkner, Twain, and a few modern authors, I don't know many

Prevet, Helena. Interesting library you have. I admit I have not read them, although I am still interested. I took Russian language for a semester in high school but never got the hang of the Cyrillic intonations. Girls may have had something to do with it too.

Hahahahaha!! So much going on here: a cute, bouncy rhythm, perfect, unforced rhymes, a nod to cracking your fingers, and, like a cherry on top, a reference to Naked Lunch. This one has such potential for the winner's circle!! Good luck in the polls.

This is fun with its lovely rhythm, (ink) flow and rhyming pattern. I like the title, the writer's block and the generally amusing and light hearted tone of your verse which I think excellently fits the brief. Good luck! Debbie
