Hi June,
This is a well told story which probably wasn't funny at the time, but brings up laughs now. I think I would agree with you about chocolate diamonds and Tahitian black pearls/ Though, I have never seen eiher.
The originals are still the best.
Congrats on placing second in the contest,
Keep writing and stay healthy
Have a super Sunday
Joan

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and to share your feedback. It was an embarrassing experience at the time, but we can laugh about it now. I?m more into artisan and hand crafted jewelry. That salesman chose the wrong girl!

My pleasure, Margaret. It is a bad salesman who assumes the wife of a man who likes one kind of jewelry would have the same expensive tastes and to assume you had the money to afford it. I don't usually where anything other than engagement and band.

Great story here and congratulations on your win. I can relate 110% to this story. I could have been you roped into that jewelry store. I make my own necklaces from rather ordinary beads and my husband is more like a watch from Walmart type of guy. But we do like to travel!

Well you certainly have an amusing tale to tell after this cruise. I've never heard of chocolate diamonds, but the chocolatinis sound rich and sweet. I'm with your husband, what a compliment to think you looked the lady to wear a $10,000.00 necklace. Enjoyed your cruise story June, well told.
cheers,
valda

This was amusing. I don't even know what chocolate diamonds are. I see yellow diamonds and blue but not chocolate colored. I perfer them clear and sparking.

This was a shopping expedition you will not be forgetting in a hurry. All those sweet treats to entice you to purchase a big ticket item and I hate these kind of ploys, although I do love chocolate! A fine post June, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Heh heh, the last and only cruise my dear wife and I engaged in was a little more sedate and a little more conservative, we had $500 credit to spend, and only exceeded it by a couple of hundred, in the 11 days on it, we engaged in self guided tours on land, beautifully shared June, blessings Roy

I don't even know what "chocolate diamonds" are. Are they dark colored diamonds? I was worried when you said you were sweating and the need for paper towels because I wondered if they put some candies around you! I don't like that kind of pressure tactic. So glad for the "catastrophe" that launched your escape!

Hello again Princess June. I have no black pearls, alas, and if I did, they would be accompanying me to a jewellery shop who loves to buy!
I laughed out loud several times during this 'fiasco' - first though, at your fears regarding Bill's possible choice of watch, and the fear of remortgaging your home. There are watches in London that are probably worth more than my home, I note!
But those problems are small beer (or chocolatini) compared with your embarrassing escapade! What was your husband doing, letting you be whisked away? Perhaps he thought you were enjoying that - or more likely, he was!
A chocolate diamond necklace for only $10,000? That was a cheap one - I expected another zero at least. If you can afford Tahitian black pearls, stick with them. These days I wear my mother's wedding ring and my father's pilot's watch from the1940s.
It isn't the bling - but the one who gives it.
But I still couldn't go without chocolate.
Paul
