A lovely and heartfelt tribute for your friend. I love the image of your closing line, 'your laughter will ring out with joy, your soul forever free.' Such a wonderful thought. If I may say so, cancer is a bitch. I am glad she was able to find the beauty in each day. And I am sorry for the loss of your friend. Thank you for sharing about your friend.

Your poem is a beautiful tribute to your friend, and how she maintained her good spirits in everything that she was going through. I am so sorry for your loss.

This is a beautiful, well written poem in memory of your friend. Her life of bringing sparkle to the life of others, as well as her mantra to seize the day, was remarkable.

RIP Jane

It is kind of you to write a poem about her.

Cancer is a horrible disease. Chemo makes people liar their hair. Your words are: " Her turban worn sartori'lly
To hide her loss of hair."

I have seen cancer patients suffering from the side effects of chemo. They lived on pain killers. Your words: " But cancer first would cut so deep, She battled loss and pain."

Thank you for sharing.

I loved this upbeat memoriam poem. Jane sounded like a fighter and a lover of life. The kind of person who will make you feel like her best friend after five minutes. Those kinds are rare and treasured. Beautifully written. I'm sorry you lost your friend. Gretchen

This is a lovely dedication to your friend. Jane sounds like an awesome individual who valued all that life offered and enjoyed it in every way she could. A full life right to the end it sounds like. Good for her.
Excellent story in a poem. You do her proud.
Best of luck in the contest.

Ohhhh, ohhh, Sweet Debbie. I am so sad to read this GORGEOUS tribute to your friend. She seems so totally fabulous and an unstoppable entity of joy. I'm sorry you've had to go through this...and watch your wonderful friend go through it, as well. But she left you an absolutely beautiful legacy: carpe diem. She was NOT going to be denied happiness. That's pretty impressive.

I appreciate that you posted these words that you wrote in loving memory. They touched me. xo

Hi Rachelle! Thank you so much for this! I really appreciate your lovely words. I actually just heard from a distance because she was in France. But it was soo quick. Brain haemorrhage, then straight into a coma. She wouldn't have known anything and had she recovered...well she would never have been Jane again that's for sure. So it is a blessed relief. But God, how fast - one minute sounding ok, the next curtains! Hope all ok with you my lovely friend. Did you win the contest? I must check. Speak soon, Debbie x

The extreme quickness has that good news/bad news way about it. Good for her, difficult for all her loved ones. Ugh.

Things here are good. You're a sweetie to ask. xo

I am so sorry for the loss of your friend, Jane. This is a beautiful tribute to her memory and I'm sure she would be pleased. A sad story but also one of compassion and a desire to survive and fight to beat the odds. Your told her story beautifully.

Blessings
Janet

Jane was beautiful and looked very young. It sounded like she had a great personality, too. I can understand your loss. I love the southern France, too. What a romantic place to meet someone.

Well done.
