Ciao poet! , you now have 3 votes.

Certain devices have been put on the market and then after only some months, they have been recalled as needing further testing because they turned out to be a hazard for people. eg. airbags opening suddenly and suffocating the driver.

We like to think that most hazards pop up during testing like in your narrative and the only one "hurt" is the dummy....but sadly, some hazards, that evade scrupulous testing, come apparent only after a number of people get injured or even die. (sigh).

The regulators then step in and recall the device.

Can a firm whose device caused injuries or death due to a design defect be trialed?

I think so. There is an element of responsibilty and due diligence required. Thanks for reviewing and the vote!

They lost another one? Hopefully you mean the crash test dummy is dead and not the poor patient. Very funny story. I would write the first line in the past tense like the rest of the story.

Hmm, I wonder if this is meant to be more of humor fiction than general. There seems to be a small punchline at the end. Maybe, maybe not. Good luck in the contest.

notes:

he turns to the hygienist and asks, "what happened?"
