Yes is the best place on planet earth, and nobody asked me about any shots. I think their healthcare is good and free:)

What an amazing place to take a holiday and it sounds like you recharged your batteries here at a difficult time in your life. I loved your vivid descriptions here tat took me to a place I shall probably never visit.

This paradise the way you've written simply seems like so, a paradise! Be it alone, or with a loved one, you've written it as heaven on earth and could very well be a commercial for Costa Rica.
I've spoken with a couple of people who have vacationed there and two words still come to mind; beautiful and zip lining (I guess that's actually 3 words).
Wonderful post and I hope you enjoy it again on your next travel.

This paradise the way you've written simply seems like so, a paradise! Be it alone, or with a loved one, you've written it as heaven on earth and could very well be a commercial for Costa Rica.
I've spoken with a couple of people who have vacationed there and two words still come to mind; beautiful and zip lining (I guess that's actually 3 words).

Riu Guanacaste: Eat, Pray, Love is, I suspect, a place every city dweller or exhausted worker, should visit annually - but not when you are there, or that would ruin your paradise!
So many places used to be like that - even in the 1970s there were undiscovered tropical beaches known only to a handful of hippie adventurers - now they are multi -million dollar resorts with skyline hotels and no room left on beaches littered with tourists - so we must keep your paradise secret!
Your description of the island is so sumptuous - so many senses are brought into play - you see the birds breakfasting, the monkeys playing; you feel the wind ruffling your hair, the ocean 'playing hide and seek with your body'; you hear the trills of the birds and the symphony of the waves.
You persevered with the tides in order to find a way to swim safely - and then you describe the whole experience in spiritual terms: to be reborn, leaving your sorrow and loss behind - like the little mermaid - but in your case, a story without regret. Instead a rediscovery of Eden.
