this might be your first attempt but you don't lack a wild imagination.
That said:..
That is definitely a male lion with a thick mane. Females don't have manes
Secondly, you have 27 syllables, two more than allowed. Best to re-check the requirements on contest page.

Just punch on your computer :
Haiku count
Paste and copy and press count
It gave 27
You could just change lioness to lion ( it is a male after all )
And leave off wild
That way your poem is practically the same
