I like how you have used the literary technique of personification. It may endear the reader to the plant. If you would ever like me to, I will share with you an experiment some Vermont dowsers conducted with a plant. A great topic.

There was an experiment conducted in the 90's by relatives of one of my dowsing teachers in Vermont. They had hooked up a plant to some kind of machine like a lie detector. In talking to the plant, touching it, playing music for it, they had noted changes in the lines on the graph.
One of the members was going to California. He told his brother that he would think something very violent about the plant. He did not want to tell when or what he would think of for this violent act, in case the plant was able to discern the plan.
The person in CA thought of burning the plant. When they compared notes, it was at the exact moment the thought had been transmitted, that the graph showed evidence of the reactions of the plant going crazy.

With a summer like most of us have had this year, it's been a real chore to keep any plants living, inside or out. And no, I have no idea why the inside plants have struggled too. I wish I could have talked my tomato plants into productivity rather than watering twice a day. Thanks for sharing.

This story is interesting. I would recommend reformatting the paragraph structures. It seems to be written like poetry. Some lines in in commas and appears to continue in the next line with a capitol letter.

example:
You are going to be around, even if I am not you know.
I read that your kind live longer than mine,



And you are the {ones} that little Missy would water even if I have not.

OMG! This is incredible! Unbelievable! How did you write all of these wonderful things! It's pure genius! Beautiful! How did your character get stomach acid? Did she drink the plant food? I was following but I thought maybe you ingested the plant food, in your rush to call Jimmy? I hope I got that right I was distracted while reading. Did the story just come to you?
