Well, that "Saul" became Paul, and the greatest evangelist in history. I thought you were referring to the Old Testament King Saul who was chosen to be king but he didn't obey orders.
You did a great job with this dialogue and I'm glad your alter ego was able to show you that God did answer even if it wasn't the way we hoped. We all have those events but we keep praising God and learning as we keep trusting and holding His Hand.

Thank you so much my dear friend, sometimes is hard to keep the faith.

I understand! 💞 Even the psalmist says the same in Psalm 73 and he felt bad that he suffered while others had life easy.

Authentic dialogue with convincing voices. These go together to make an intriguing little tale. Most enjoyable to read and fascinating to watch the battle work itself out.

Thank you so much for your encouraging review.

Oh Iza, how this story blessed me It is so easy to feel persecuted and forgotten; so human to be angry, or chide someone's faith This is a story that reaches hearts, mine included It is an honest creation of life's traumas and yet your faith is still there, in all you do, including your writing What a wonderful feeling to know He accepts us as we are and defers judgment because of his great love I wish you only the best in your writing gift

You presented this chapter in easy-to-read, color-coded fonts. A real plus. The ending shade was somewhat dark, but that darkness was significant as the decision was made to honor God in silence. That was quite a play upon Paul's words.

I'm not sure you alter-ego is always helping. Sometimes she just makes you feel bad aboug yourself. Sometimes however, she comes up with some pretty good stuff and tells you that you have a lot to be thankful for. At least she hasn't talking you into giving your faith. I don't think she should talk you out of being a cheerleader. You are no Saul.

I hope I am not, but lately I am losing it...

You have your own unique take on these dialogue pieces Iza and they always hook me in with interest. This one clearly sets out your ambivalence about God because your prayers haven't been answered. By the end, however, your alter-ego has helped you come to a compromise - to be less vocal but more a believer in your heart. I wondered in your 4th piece of (purple) dialogue - "doctor initially called to tell me that he might (not) make it." But I think this is a relatable piece of self-questioning and your message of faith will be appreciated and understood. Thanks for sharing, Debbie

I hope you do well in the reviews Iza, I don't think everything we pray for will be answered, but it's not His fault, just walk closer to Him, it's the intent of the heart that He looks for, well done, blessings Roy
I wish you wouldn't use "mthr fcker" Iza, this is profanity of the worst kind, now that does offends God.
Ephesians 4:29 Watch the way you talk. Let nothing foul or dirty come out of your mouth. Say only what helps, each word a gift.

We will never understand why God acts the way He does. We're not supposed to, but it would be nice to have a understanding. Thank you for sharing.
I am grieving (I would think an angry person would speak in contractions. I'm. There are a few paces that need contractions to seem natural.)
I th I will renounce my role as a Cheerleader (th???)

In this post we really see you wrestling with your faith. This format of the conversation with yourself brings out the two sides of the argument and also how hard it is to come to grips with life and the will of God sometimes. After my father died, who was someone who went to church every Sunday and supported charities, and then died after a 9 month struggle with a stroke, I really felt that the whole thing was unfair. I started asking what is the point of life? What is the point of going through all this suffering? But then I had to consider that Jesus also suffered and died on that cross, for no reason. He doesn't ask us to go through things that he did not have to go through himself. And out of suffering comes strength, the ability to deal with death, to understand its place in our transformation from this corrupted world to the perfect one we are going to. estory
