How sad but true! I just got an emergency flood watch notification on my phone. The streets are flooded. It's being raining all day. I can just see Noah loading up the boat...again. sigh.
You have a 2-3-4 count which is just fine. I specified a short-long-short pattern but in modern haiku this is acceptable. Read some of Gypsy Rose's haiku. She heads the haiku club of which I'm a member.

Lovely with all requirements met. Best wishes in the contest. I'm going outside now to kayak down the street! Lol

    Wow, sorry to hear about that. I hope it clears up soon.

    Thank you for the great review and for throwing the contest, Katie. I had fun with it. Yes, Gypsy's haikus are great. I appreciate the generous stars. I'm glad you liked this little piece.

Beautiful picture to bring out the beauty of your world's shortest haiku. Very well done, Mystery Contestant; this had to have been a seriously challenging assignment! Good luck to you in the polls! xo;

    Thank you for the great review, Rachelle. Yes, this contest was a little challenging. We'll see what the voting morons deem worthy of a win this time. Lol. Have a great day, R.

Nice. Clever stuff to make the link to the global crisis. Carefully chosen words make this most successful. Well done and good luck in the competition.

    Thank you for the great review, John. I think this is flying over many people's heads, I guess. It took 16 people to read this before I even got my second free review. I'm glad someone figured it out. Lol. I appreciate the generous stars and good luck wishes, my friend. Have yourself a great night.

    Tell me about it. Complex ideas don't go down well here. I actually wondered about a link to acid rain and putting 'rot' in, instead of 'pelt'. That would send the masses running to the hills, like townsfolk escaping forest fires.

    Hahahaaa. Yes it would. I think three quarters of these people, let alone voters, have the mindset of a third grader, seeing as how writes appealing to children seem to always win on here. Sometimes when I'm low on fake cash, I'll stoop to writing for them. Haha. Thanks again, J.

    Yup. Me too! Hence my gratuitous attempts to win favour with titles involving the word 'FanStory'. My most popular poem so far is 'FanStory Four Score Horror'.

Mm, I smell spring:) love your haiku is creating such a beautiful image between the most beautiful manifestations of the water realm. The snowflakes and the rain drops. Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings and the contest.
