There's little I can say to this, a poem writ with love,
except perhaps, to say these words are scribed from 'up above'...
For who are we to pen a verse, so critics find a flaw?
'Tis angels' authorship for sure, inspiring such awe. :)

This is a beautiful informative poem. I had forgotten the source of "Laugh and the world laughs with you . . . ." Wouldn't it be great to be the author of a sentence or phrase that would be remembered by so many for so long?

Thank you so much, Nancy, for your kind review and thoughts, greatly appreciated! Apparently, it was English theologian, Thomas Fuller, in 1650 who said those words but, you're right, Ella's are very similar. Take care Debbie

Ella Wheeler Wilcox and I are much alike, especially in this stanza from The Winds of Fate:
Like the winds of the sea are the winds of fate
As we voyage along through life;
'Tis the set of the soul
That decides its goal
And not the calm or the strife.
Learning and growing as I go on the sea of life. Mike is a dear, isn't he? A champion to many.

To be honest before Mike mentioned her in his review of Frost, I'd never heard of her so it was fascinating to discover how ahead of her time she was in her thinking.
