Oh goodness! What a nightmare. And thank you for taking us to a happy ending. I think doing without sky-diving is a blessing in disguise. I mean you'd have to be mad, in my opinion. And you have added useful information too. A great piece of writing.

I am glad he can't do sky-diving. A good thing! Thank you for your very positive review.

What a good-looking young man! Medical stories always interest me. Fascinating that this serious lung problem has a profile patient. I am glad your son is fine now. Who wants to scuba dive or jump out of a plane anyway? But is he able to board a plane for travel purposes?

Thank you very much Shari. I think ordinary flying is okay. He went overseas for his honeymoon without any bad effects. But that?s the only time he has flown since the operation.

I must say my mom lived 30;years after her first heart attack. She had three. Thank God there were no faker chest clutches the times she desperately needed her life to be saved, because if someone with a cold had your advice and had clutched their chest, just to be seen more quickly, my mom mostly likely would not have lived to almost 90 years old

I believe you wrote your story clearly and well and I will suggest you edit the note because your advice to fake chest pain in an ER, just to be seen sooner isn't humorous especially to any voters whose relatives died from heart attacks. Best wishes.

Alexandra

I apologise, and yes, you are right. I have deleted that part. Thank you for pointing it out. It was not really funny, in hindsight, to make that comment. I appreciate your review and thoughtfulness.

Interesting story with information also. It was a scary time for family, and no one did anything wrong to merit what happened. You were indeed lucky.*******************************************************************************************Karen

Thanks so much for reviewing. These things just happen for no particular reason, although they have noticed irregularities in the blebs and bullae (whatever they are! Lol.)

they are kind of the same type of thing, They are blisters or sacs filled with fluid. the blebs have been known to go away on their own sometimes. Karen

well, I know that scared you all to death and I'm glad he came out of it ok .
Is that his picture? What a handsome young man.
That is helpful information you have added in the author's notes. I have never heard of spontaneous collapsed lung emergencies before, and probably not many have.
Thanks for the info, and it was a good story, fortunately with a good ending.

Thank you very much Katharine. A lovely review. No, that is a photo from the internet, but I chose it because he closely resembled my son. I was going to put up an image of lungs, showing what a collapsed lung looked like - but it didn't look as though it would draw any readers! Lol.
