Hi Craig,
Well written and illustrated poem here.
I never thought of it that way, but it so true. I would say too much imagination brought on the nuclear bomb.
You need a balance in everything to make life easier.
Congrats on placing second in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Have a great day and weekend.
Joan

Congratulation on the place win.

Indeed, Craig, lack of imagination can make for a dull, unacceptable way of life.
But, just enough, goes a long way...

I've come to believe that, through-out a long and treasured life.

All the very best to you, and yours!

(especially the goats, they're my favorites) lol

Warmly,
Victoria

Why do I like your posts so much? They just speak to me. I find this one clever and true. It is obvious but original at the same time. That is the best combination. Not too much imagination involved. Just enough to enable us to relate and say, "why didn't I think of that?"
I'm late in my reviewing. Seems as though my free time comes in spurts. I'm glad that I read this winner.

Thanks, Debbie, for the lovely comments and the exceptional rating. They mean a lot. I think there's ample evidence of both sides of the coin if we look around us. Most grateful, as always. Craig

A clever idea that really works for this 5-7-5 poem. You fit meaningful ideas into seventeen syllables most effectively. Well done and good luck in the competition.

Hi Craig, that is so true. You've just nailed it in your 5-7-5 poem for the contest. It is really a question of balance as everything is really. The best of luck. Ulla:)))

I don't think I've ever had too much imagination, a little bit too much crap perhaps. Last week I said to someone, I seem to lack imagination, but yet writing depends on imagery, I'll have to ponder too much, I was once told by a teacher, that I had very flowery answers to test questions, but little else, too much?!? heh heh, beautifully written Craig, blessings and good luck,

Thanks very much, Roy. I guess one person's imagination is another's crap, maybe? I definitely lack enough imagination to be a better writer than I am. Much appreciated, Craig.

You hit this out of the park. Either we have the extreme mindless belief of false facts (too much!) or the ever-increasing threat of "AI" flooding the brain with computer-driven "babble" and drowning our ability to navigate our own rivers of Dopamine (Total lack!)

So glad I have a six left for this! When I saw the picture, I thought 'wow, that says it all' and then I read your words. The two together are brilliant. I am not talking abut the poetry -- not skilled enough to offer any 'educated' thoughts there. It's the philosophy and truth of the thought that touched me. ann

This is excellent, Craig! I love anything on the theme of balance because, having lost mine (literally), I know how important it is in so much of life! Your succinct statement in this 5-7-5 speaks volumes about the imagination and the power it has over us. It is definitely worthy of a six (sadly I have none) and a win! Good luck! Debbie

An amazing photo and presentation. A very thoughtful 5-7-5, which compels the reader to think about its truth and validity. Hence an excellent entry. Best wishes for the contest.
