Jim Bridger - one of the villains of the Donner Party. He promoted Hastings' Pass as a shortcut even though he knew nothing about it because it brought more travelers/customers his way. He told Donner and Reed that the passage was safe.

I love fiction based on history, and this is a nice Christmas story that also gives us a look into the life of one of our best-known Western figures. I've heard of him, of course, but never knew he married an Indian and lived among her people.

Holly is a nice touch here as the storyteller. Have you owned a Blue Point Siamese? I have two Seal Points. I've only seen the blue ones in pictures - they're beautiful.

A nice story, Terry.

Pam, thank you for the six stars. You may recall a while back, I mentioned I was working on a Western story that was inspired by your series, Dolly. It is my attempt at this type of story.

Kit actually married 3 times: an Arapaho, a white woman, and a Cherokee. He did have 10 children.

We had one seal point and two blue points. Terry.

I do recall you telling me that. Hope to see more like this in the future.

I love historical fiction, also. Aztec by Gary Jennings is one of my favorites. Several Wilber Smith books, and the best of all...Lonesome Dove.

What a fantastic well told history lesson, told by a talking eggnog drinking feline. It is a spellbinding tale from beginning to end. The artwork by VMarguarite is delightful and your author's note is a great compliment to the work. Evi

I love when it is an animal's perspective. Using the technique of person will definitely draw the reader in. The play on words enhances the humor. Too bad everyone didn't live with this way. How deep and meaningful. This shows evidence pf good research.

I love how you let your cat, Holly, tell her story. Very intelligent cat. So Holly is part Arapaho. How interesting. Great story, and told so well.

This was a fun story, Terry. I didn't realize it was based on a real person until reading your notes at the end. So, in addition to getting a good story, we got a bit of a history lesson at the same time.

I recently finished reading "Santa Claus" and enjoyed that very much too! - Jim

If I were a gambling man, I would bet that your imagination has kept you in trouble most of your life. But I probably wouldn't say anything about it much, since that would be like "the pot calling the kettle black." Thanks for sharing.
