Congratulations on your milestone post! I learn a lot about Australia through your stories. In America, I haven't been to the post office in years. We can get a lot done on their website now, which I'm sure lessons the congestion at the Post Office, itself. Excellent writing!

Best wishes,

Alexandra

Little Irishman, it's your 2500th birthday! So I am giving you a six as a birthday present.
Normally you would never get a six from me, since I am for ever pulling out my hair as you state the flaming obvious for the 50th time! But with you, I always know what to expect.

I used to collect Australian stamps. That was my 'second phase' as a philatelist, when, at 14, I considered myself a 'specialist' Australia collector. Of course, I didn't know then anything of the complexity, or rarity, of the early kangaroo issues. Now, they are philatelic stars!

Well, the above might make a series of blogs for you in the future, but for now I will once more put up with the 'flaming obvious' details of Aussie post office life. The domestic picture you give us is, as always, optimistic and attractive. I'm sure many would trade places with you like a shot.

So, to a member of fanStory Royalty, I say thank you and Congratulations!

Paul

I, too, experience first-hand the "joys" of the Australia Post, though I have not come across self-serve at our shops yet. Your descriptions create imagery of frustration and mild annoyance beautifully. A thoroughly enjoyable read.
