Ciao poet, you have your first vote.
I found your poem interesting.
I learned what Koreans love to eat, the stew dish sounds delicious.
Also, I liked the closing line..it's obvious that you appreciate food...it's more than just a basic need.
PS: There is a tiny typo: LIVE octopus and not life.
I googled and it is literally trying to get out of the bowl. There are various sauces in which you can dip the head. I presume it's best that you bite the head off and chew well before swallowing.
I need to write a poem of this.

Your list of Korean food made me feel hungry. I too love kimchi and those other dishes you mentioned. I have bibimbap every week.
But what is 'life octopus'? Do you mean 'live'? It sounds a bit cruel to start chewing on a live creature.

Yes, I think this is a good subject for the contest and you enthuse about this food well in your verse. However, it is slightly let down by the presentation: the highlight band around the text; the contest brief included in the text box. This has the effect of cluttering and detracting from your verse which is a shame. But good luck in the contest! Debbie

I have been told mentioning food is a crowd pleaser. I had mentioned quite a few little snacks and meals in my book traffic and I was complimented on the fact that I mentioned that many food stuffs. Since then I've complimented writers who have mentioned something about food in their stories. The crux of your poem here is food so you win the prize! lol
