There is something about not only her writings, but her life as well. Enigmatic, mysterious. She is someone I would have loved to sit with and just talk. Could I have changed the trajectory of her fate? Most likely not, there was something driving her far beyond a return to the real world in which she just might have found peace. Loren

This poem, Sylvia Plath, presented with thirteen ABAB-rhymed quatrains, presents a condensed and thoughtfully scribed biographical verse about this important and powerful poet. Nice.

Very good, my dear friend. She was a great example of fighting one's demons.

Mental illness is no joke. Your tribute words were wonderful.

Hi Debbie, it's really difficult to comprehend how someone can go through life with such an urge to kill themselves. It's a completely alien concept to me. It must have been torment to go through something like that. And then then the son killed himself as well. Such needless loss of life. It's just too tragic.
You have written a fantastic poem about her and her life. It's beautiful. Ulla xcx

Thank you so much! She was probably bi-polar because she had euphoric moments as well and wrote prolifically before she killed herself. I'm so grateful for your time and kind thoughts. Take care Debbie x

Oh my - you ventured to do this very complex and gifted poetess. I used to do poetic interpretations of "Lady Lazarus" in my high school days. But now Plath is much too dark for me. It was perplexing that she attempted suicide every ten years. But that Hughes' other woman also died of suicide makes me wonder if he caused that much grief to the women he loved.

Great job with this. Thank you for taking on such a big project to inform us about Sylvia.

Thanks so much, Helen! I really appreciate your thoughts. It was a big project indeed and, like no other, left me quite drained and down. I wonder if she ever had a straightforward thought. Clearly bi-polar, I think, because she could switch to euphoric between depressive episodes. And Hughes was the worst choice of partners - a narcissist obsessed with his career which left her in his shadow and no coincidence that Wevill killed herself in the same way as she was eclipsed by Plath as well as Hughes. A strange incestuous world! Plath always needed a strong, protector in her life and her anger at her father was partly because he deserted that role. Take care Debbie

First of all, I appreciate your notes on each stanza. It really helps the reader to understand this poet. I think this poem is extraordinary, both in rhyming and in capturing the essence of this tortured artist. Thank you for sharing.

She was a real genius of poetry and she had died very young at the age of thirty. She will be missed. Excellent work! No mistakes found. I like it. Thank you for sharing!

Oh, Debbie. You did her justice... and then some! I'm blown away by this incredibly well written, flawlessly metered, gorgeous piece of poetry. Silvia Plath is my all time favorite. Your verse touching on "Daddy" brilliantly captured her energy in so few lines. This was truly a joy to read- and read again! Thank you for sharing your talent.
