Well, sadly, we will never know what's right until way down the road when something bad or worse happens. I went two years without a shot and did everything that I'd always done, which included being out and about with lots of people. Then, feeling guilty, and not wanting to be a person who wasn't willing to help get Covid under control, I took the first two shots, and then a booster. Then, I got Covid. And I've had it three times altogether. But dummy me, I'm headed next week to get another booster. Thanks for sharing.

Ric, yep. I think you are right, it will years down the road, long after I'm gone, when the truth comes out about all this, but I did get #6 last week. Terry.

Hi Terry, I like the way you handle the topic of the vaccination. I've had one covid booster in 202, then no more, and I have never had covid. With regards to the flu jab, all I can say is that I had twice in my very early sixties. The next day after the first one I came down with a severe flu that lasted two weeks. I realised I'd never had flue before. The following year I thought it must have been a coincidence, so I had the jab again, and the exact same thing happened. Then I decided never again, and I haven't had flu since. So there you go, we all react differently to vaccinations. I loved the picture with your fun piece. Ulla:)))

Ulla, thank you for reading. You have your own scientific study...don't get the flu shot! Terry.

This is a well-written piece of prose. It is on a serious topic, but you managed to find the humor and absurdity in getting any of the suggested vaccinations. I too got all of the Covid boosters but got Covid in May with numerous complications. I suffered for about two months. I'm undecided about the present booster. I will probably get it. I'm avoiding the new RSV shot. It's too unknown for me.
Your visual on this piece is quirky as ever and totally unrelated. lol I'm glad you are still on this site. I have missed your dry humor and quirky wit.

You are exactly right. It is anyone's guess. Although my sister-in-law and daughter-in-law got no covid shots, and both nearly died. My husband and I had 3 shots and he has had a mild case of it twice. All four (granddaughter 30 with 4 shots and great grandson 8 with no shots) of us had mild cases of it for Easter. Flu shots are made using eggs. I've had two and was slightly paralyzed once and was certain I was dying the second time. Shots seem about as dependable as playing the lottery.

You expose some very valid points and questions to be raised with your not-so-scientific (but loaded with common sense) study of vaccination and its effectiveness. The answer seems to be not "yes" or "no" but "maybe". We must reach a decision on our own.

Ginda, thank you for reading, and I am sad that the answer in my opinion is we must reach the decision for ourselves. Terry.

I really enjoyed reading your piece on such a controversial subject. My guess is as good as yours. Everyone has their own theory it seems but who knows?

I am with you o n this one, I got my 3 covidshots because I had to travel and I had to keep my employment and if I had a choice I would say pass. Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings.

Iza, thank you for the six-star review. I don't think it is right for anyone to force you to have the shot for employment. It should be your decision. Terry.

I am a biologist with 17 years of study under my belt. The most important thing we learnt was observation. I took early retirement at the end of 2020, but I watched with bated breath as my colleagues fought to tell us we were winning the battle against Covid. These were my friends and the stress was aging them at an impossible rate. They were being forced to twist the truth. I had my third jab, which put me in bed for a week - I have never felt so ill. I have avoided all Covid jabs since and hope I will be able to continue to do so.

Oh, my, and I was hoping I could get some definitive answers when I read your post. It's an excellent presentation and you include some I great information. I don't know when I got my first flu shot, but I have one every year. I went to my doctor last week, and he said they hadn't received their supply of either the flu or COVID vaccine. Yes, I have heard of people getting COVID even though they've had the shots. I know what you mean about the shots. My arm was sore and red where I got the shot for at least a week. There has been so much misleading information about COVID and the vaccine, I don't know whether to get another shot or not. I think I've avoided COVID. mainly because I don't go out much. Anyhow, an interesting article and I understand your conclusion. It's a lot of guesswork. judi

I enjoyed reading your essay. I work as a nurse in a nursing home and to be honest, I do not know if any vaccines are effective. I no longer take the Covid vaccine because it makes me much sicker than when I contracted Covid. I never heard of the study of prisoners with the Covid vaccine, very interesting. You make some excellent points here.
