This story sounds and reads oh so familiar. Is it a portfolio repost from years back?
It's a nice story, but in my mind and opinion, the pastor changed his mind from adamantly opposed to LGBTQ rights to favoring them in one sitting. Seems a stretch.
A few additional paragraphs to possibly sway him would make it more believable.

I wrote a little story for teens who are gay, because when I was teaching years ago, two boys in the HS in my school district killed themselves. I will be posting a non fiction article about gay teens and suicide, then the childrens book. I hope you will be supportive. I'm a heterosexual married woman and have already lost fans here just by mentioning my plans to them. That's too bad. I think your story is very important because people need to read about what others must endure just to live their God given lives
