Hello John and Karenina,
Marvelous imagery in this homage to the phantom moon
her reflected light is indeed a two-faced coin of the gods.
Light and dark, warm and cold, seen and unseen,
a perfect foil for imagination.
"resolve falls like stars" and perhaps also rises.
Well done.
Luna is smiling.
Best wisshes.

-Very nice artwork and presentation.
-The notes are appreciated.
-The comments are for both of you.
-A well written poem with effective imagery.
-There is a reflective mood, appropriate
for the "precocious moon," along with the color imagery.
-The second verse reads like a tanka.
-Very good personification of resolve and I
also like "a two-faced coin of the gods."
-A very good concluding verse.
-Very well done!

Sandra, thank you, for the great review! As you know she's a gem! polished in every way! It was so much fun and a pleasure to work with her. Thanks again, my friend. You are also one of my heroines!
-
Aw, thank you! Would you like to write a novel with me?? 😊😊🥰
-
Is that a legit offer? I'm honored at the notion, but you'd have to take me under your wing! My muse is wide open!
-
Why not! I have to finish the one I'm working on first, but it would be fun to do it. Let's get this year out, and then we'll chat. You can think of some ideas, and I will, too. I've never done this before so it will be good for both of us.
-
I'm in!!
-
Good. It'll be a challenge for both of us. :)) Something to look forward to. 😊xx
-
For certain! :) If I fire up the muse now, I should be ready by year's end. Sorry, I divorced my writing optimism about twenty years ago. Your offer makes me realize how much I miss not having to question my abilities! Truly, Sandra, I'm honored and terrified! But I'm all in! LOL. Hugs

John and Karenina,
This poem utterly takes my breath away. Extraordinary images, too many to single out, but I do particularly like
"...One infinitesimal stutter step
to leap into the darkness...
fall through the canvas...."
and
"...fate teeters on the edge
of dawn...."
John, you are one lucky guy to share such beauty with Karenina, and visa versa!!!
Thank you, both!!! Congratulations!!!

There is some really nice imagery in this poem. I particularly liked "It--a two-faced coin of the gods, fervently tossed from the pinnacle of darkness." This created such a strong image in my mind and also "Woeful shadows bisect the sky-- silhouettes against a pale orb..." Your writing definitely makes the moon feel like a mythical object. I really enjoyed it.

Hi John, this is a beautiful collaborative poem. It's an exciting adventure making poetry together. It helps both writers grow.
This poem is perfection through and through. To say it deserves a six is to understate its value.
Thanks for sharing, you and precious Karenina!
Take care,
Rhonda

Wow this well written poem is bursting at the seams with some stunning examples of vivid imagery. There are too many to choose from but I particularly like, "grind the clicking arrow against its weathered sphere" Excellent!

This poem is filled with lyrical and beautiful imagery and thoughts - but I don't understand all of it. I get it enough to appreciate its beauty and strength. How wonderful to do a composite piece with Karenina. Her writing is always fantastic and very thoughtful and original. Your collaboration is seamless - and perhaps that is actually harder to do than write one's own piece. Well done, both of you!!

I love this. The language in this poem--and the series of images it creates--is magnificent. There are so many turns of phrase I admire here: "chiffonade the nearing twilight" and "grasp its fevered shank" in particular stand out in this altogether stand-out poem. Excellent teamwork! One small editorial suggestion: I'm not sure I'm sold on ending a line with "from" and am wondering why the line breaks there. But I am also reading this on my phone so perhaps it isn't displaying properly.
