The next thing I know, I am startled awake. That old fart Freddy was kissing my toe. I jumped up and hopped away as fast as I could. I lost him in the marsh. Freddy could not keep up because of his bum knee. A biology student started his dissection, but Freddy escaped. He hid out in the lab until the last day of school and escaped back to the pond.

This is a really entertaining read! I was just reading recently about female frogs escaping unwanted attention by playing dead and then here you are, writing a funny story about it. Just one little correction required - "Freddy" insted of "Freedy" in your final line. Good luck for the contest.

LOL, one thing that occurred to me as read your flash fiction story was that playing dead is not the best strategy for dealing with old farts. They don't even have to be frogs! But I've been told a girl has to kiss a lot of frogs to find her prince. I wonder why they told me that? Well done. Terry

This is a delightful metaphor for an unpleasant subject, a real juxtaposition. This is book worthy with classic characters as animals. You have a good ecample of alliteration with a leaning toward onomatopoeia. The f's give the effect of hissing. Good work.

I am glad you are over Covid and are once again able to write. Your story is short and cute. It's terrible, the things single ladies have to go through to keep guys from bothering them. This was the perfect story for the "Playing Dead" event.
